Gasp! Robert Pattinson Chops Off Legendary Mane

Stop the presses! Has Robert Pattinson really chopped off his trademark mess of hair? The 'Twilight' star was spotted in Los Angeles on Sunday with a baseball cap covering what appeared to be closely sheared hair. With his greasy mane now gone, what will he run his hands through during interviews?

The hair-slaughter may have something to do with his next film, 'Water for Elephants,' which begins shooting in a few days. Co-starring Reese Witherspoon, Patz is playing a Great Depression-era student who leaves school to join the circus.

He had all his hair last week when he celebrated his 24th birthday with a visit to 'The Oprah Winfrey Show.' Pattinson actually got a similar cut in December of 2008, but it was back to its former glory in just a few short months.

His "legendary mane" is no longer than most young men's hair today. In fact, it's somewhat shorter than a lot of the kids in my son's high school, so where's the "legendary mane?"

I was expecting to see someone who'd had long hair that cut it short, not someone who'd gotten an ordinary haircut, for heaven's sake!

My kid's hair grows just as quickly (and as thick) as this young man's hair, so I guess I should start calling my son's hair "legendary," as well...!
