Shia LaBeouf Bites a Much Bigger Hand That Fed Him

It's official:
Shia LaBeouf has no filter. While hardly no one can blame the 'Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps' actor for recently saying he
"wasn't impressed" with the Michael Bay-helmed 'Transformers 2,' his latest comments about another film and its much-more-famous director may actually catch some heat. Interviewed at the Cannes Film Festival, LaBeouf came right out and said he was saddened by 2008's 'Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull,' saying he and everyone involved -- including director Steven Spielberg -- "dropped the ball" on the blockbuster sequel.
"I feel like I dropped the ball on the legacy that people loved and cherished," LaBeouf told the
LA Times, apologetically. "If I was going to do it twice, my career was over."
Oh, and LaBeouf wasn't the only principle actor bummed out by the movie.
"We [Harrison Ford and LaBeouf] had major discussions. He wasn't happy with it either. Look, the movie could have been updated. There was a reason it wasn't universally accepted."
While the film may have been a financial success, earning nearly $800 million worldwide, LaBeouf believes Spielberg needs to hear it from a friend that 'Skull' was a mess. He urges the director to not let one bad movie get to him.
"I'll probably get a call [from Spielberg]," LaBeouf rightly predicts. "But he needs to hear this. I love him. I love Steven. I have a relationship with Steven that supersedes our business work. And believe me, I talk to him often enough to know that I'm not out of line. And I would never disrespect the man. I think he's a genius, and he's given me my whole life. He's done so much great work that there's no need for him to feel vulnerable about one film. But when you drop the ball you drop the ball."
LaBeouf fully admits he wasn't very convincing as a leather jacket-wearing action hero, saying he just wasn't up to the task.
"You get to monkey-swinging and things like that and you can blame it on the writer and you can blame it on Steven [Spielberg]. But the actor's job is to make it come alive and make it work, and I couldn't do it. So that's my fault. Simple."
LaBeouf begins filming the third 'Transformers' movie on Tuesday, but last week he said he "wasn't really impressed with 'Transformers 2'" and that despite having "some really wild stunts," the flick's "heart was gone."
On Michael Bay, who directed 'Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen' and will also helm the third film: "Mike went so big that it became too big, and I think you lost the anchor of the movie."

WHAT is he talking about?! It was a good movie!!!
Actually, he was the only part of the movie that wasn't great.
Reply
Both movies were bad, but they were mainly bad because of the script. He's not a great actor, not bad, but not great - and he really has no idea what he's talking about. Shia is not a person who I would take film advice from. He's a young actor who's getting in over-his-head and now feeling like he can talk about things for which he doesn't know anything about.
What movie did you watch?
He was the worst part of that movie.
This kid couldn't act wet in a thunderstorm.

I don't know why they try and keep him on top, he's a horrible actor. He reads his lines as if, he is actually reading his lines. Too much other true talent out for them to focus on this poser!
I don't get the attraction of this kid. At all. The idea that Harrison Ford or Spielberg would take anything he says seriously is laughable.

Why not? He's right.
The Transformer movies and Kingdom of the Crystal Skull were all poor movies.
The saddest part is that knew this, but banged them out anyways.
LaBoeuf has a much more cavalier attitude than he ought to have at his age, and it's more than a little arrogant for him to be reprimanding Spielberg in that way. Unfortunately, he's right. The movie just wasn't very good, and the responsibility for that rests with everyone involved.

He's right. As a convincing action hero, Shia was closer to Jonny Quest than to Indiana Jones. Make that "closer to the Venture Brothers." RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK owes a lot to JONNY QUEST.
LaBeouf was hardly the only thing wrong with the film. Too many things kept taking me out of the movie; like (SPOILER) Indy surviving a nuciear test explosion with nothing worse than some bumps and bruises, protected by nothing more than an old refridgerator (END SPOILER).

The movie kind of sucked, but honestly I thought he was the worst part of it.

Today's new crop movie stars are so ungrateful and spoiled. They make millions of dollars e very year courtesy of the very public that is barely making ends meet. I think the entire movie business needs to be downsized and actors should be forced to work for the wage. Being forced to work for less than 6 bucks and hour might cool their jaded jets!

Wow, I have a new respect for Shia now. He is 100% right about every thing he said. Sculls was the worst of the 4 movies for many reason and yes he did not live up to the job.
Because the first transfomer was so good, when I watched Transformer 2 and saw how bad it was I thought I missed somthing so I had to watch it a 2nd time. All it was action no story, just robots fighting. I need more then that.
Way to go Shia you called it.
Reply
You don't call anything when you wait until the public tells you your movies suck and then agree with them. Everybody knows they suck, him saying so himself means nothing. The kid is protecting his career by agreeing, he's trying to make himself look good.
He wasn't up to the role. Then why did he take it? Who dropped the ball. It didn't stop him from cashing the check.

The last young actor who could actually act was Brad Pitt. This is no surprise. Most younger musicians can't play an instrument either.

LOL, That is like the guy who fumbled the final second touchdown blaming the fans foe shouting to loud. Shia WAS/IS the worst part of Indiana Jones and Transformers. Let him go back to obscurity.

False:
He was the worst part about Indy
But only the second worst part about T2. Megan Fox was the worst part, but he did follow close behind.
EVERYTHING about that movie sucked, down to the plastic skull that looked like it had a loose wad of plasic wrap in it. I want that 2 hours of my life back!

the truth hurts. He's absolutely right that both Skull and he sucked it up big time.

Just his name alone makes me sick, I actually thought he was a female, former Cosby kid. And the fact that Ford "springsteened" his wife for a mini-ho makes me even sicker. I'd never go to a movie with either of these losers.
