Nearly everyone who watches 'Celebrity Apprentice' -- and even those who don't -- have rallied behind Bret Michaels following his near-fatal brain hemorrhage a few weeks ago. And while public sympathy is one thing, as we head into the 'Apprentice' finale, my sources are telling me that Donald Trump -- the one who does the hiring and firing on the show -- is also pretty biased and may choose Bret simply for ratings. Could it be, Donald? The word ... after the jump! The Donald to Leverage Bret's Woes?
Now that the 'Celebrity Apprentice' is down to the final two, Bret Michaels and Holly Robinson Peete, TV executives tell me it will be almost impossible for Bret Michaels to lose.
"We are talking about Donald Trump," laughed one executive. "He never lets a press opportunity pass him by and after all Bret has been through, Trump will definitely make him the winner."
The finale challenge was taped months ago -- long before any of Bret's health issues. However, the decision on who Trump hires is made during the live finale.
In the challenge, Holly and Bret are responsible for creating a new flavor of tea for Snapple. Bret and his returning teammates, Darryl Strawberry and Summer Sanders, create a cinnamon-vanilla concoction called Tropirocka. Holly and her potty-mouthed teammates, Maria and Curtis, create a compassion berry flavor, which sources tell me is much better.
They might have the better tea, but do they have sympa-tea? Sorry, that was terrible! PopEater's not ashamed to say we're Team Bret to support our pal!
Tom Cruise: His Own Worst Enemy
Movie executives believe they dodged a bullet a few days ago when Tom Cruise returned to the Oprah Winfrey studio to promote his upcoming film with Cameron Diaz, 'Knight and Day.'
It was five years ago this month that Cruise professed his love for his then-wife-to-be, Katie Holmes, on Winfrey's show by infamously jumping on the set's couch. Tom has since appeared on the show in 2008 to explain his odd behavior.
"No one can control Tom. He does and says exactly what he wants even if his words and actions sometimes harm his career," said one insider. "Tom is his own worst enemy, talking about Scientology and his 4-year-old daughter's great taste when he should be talking about his great new movie. But who is going to tell the world's biggest movie star that?"
And although 'Oprah' went well last week, movie executives still know they are not out of the woods just yet. Tom has a lot more interviews coming up, where everyone hopes he keeps his feet firmly on the ground.
Snubbed By Newly-Skinny Jason Alexander
You would think that losing over 30 pounds in 18 weeks would make you want to shout from the rooftops, but that wasn't the case with Jenny Craig's new spokesperson, Jason Alexander, at Monday's press conference.
The poorly-attended event I showed up at had more publicists than press, but none of this mattered when the hilarious and trim Jason took the stage to promote Jenny Craig at The Pierre Hotel. After the presentation, I waited to ask Jason my questions: What celebrity friend he thought could benefit from Jenny? What food he missed the most? Is sex better when you are skinny?
But after an hour waiting, I was running late for my lunch date. Sorry, Jason ... if you want to answer some questions, e-mail me at naughtynicerob@aol.com!

Holly Should have been fired TWICE for losing both of her tasks. For whatever reason, each time, the focus was shifted from her obvious firing, to an undeserving scapegoat. This last show when Bret was about to tell Donald why Holly should be fired...once again the topic was mysteriously diverted, and she escaped a third time. Then even after Bill Rancic pointed out that she lost both of her tasks...he went on to support her for the finale. I'm sure Holly will win the entire thing...it's obvious that someone WAY up wants her to win. And the money raising argument doesn't work...it didn't save Annie last season. Good luck Bret...you'll need it.

So glad you brought this up; thought I was the only one who saw this trend w/Holly. She really should have been kicked off the first time she lost her PM challenge. Her concepts were all wrong with both challenges she lost (who uses seafoam green anymore? That color is so 1990's!). I have my own theories as to why they kept her for so long . . .
Na, Donald will cut Bret to steal the focus, it'll be more negative! His accident scene if any cut his chances! Here's how to see the winner: imagine Donald drinking the winner's new drink !

I DONT SEE HOW DONALD CAN NOT CHOOSE BRET

WHAT IS ALL THIS CRAP ABOUT BRET I THINK HE IS JUST ANOTHER ROCK DRUGGIE. FIRE HIM
DONALD SHOULD SOME HOW NOT FIRE BRET. HIS CHARITY REALY NEEDS HIM NOW.
I thought the whole show finished taping before Bret went into the hospital...

Regardless of what happened to Bret, I always liked him better than that rude bossy know-it-all Holly. She appears to be a hard worker, but she's a nasty lady. Bret is a hard worker as well, but diplomatic and not rude like her. I must say, I didn't know Bret was such a hard working guy. Never been to his concert or seen his reality show. Team Bret!

one more thing, I'm sooooo glad there will be NO more "Celebrity" Apprentice. Get back to the regular folks and move along

Holly is rude and arrogent. way she kept throwing Cindi Laper under the bus all season was terrible. I hate her. She'll win just like Joan won last year after repeatly being horrible to Annie.

I personally wanted Holly to be gone......She is way too confident. Brett is a winner....in every sense of the word. Winner in personality, hard working, loyal, honest, too cute for words, family man. Love ya Brett! I will drink your tea, and toast to your continued success!!!

I am like some of the rest of you I am TEAM BRET all the way, As well I can't wait to try the new drink they came up with really tired of the berry drinks need a change.... GO BRET.....

Ok, I admit it- Bret's drinks' tag name, inandof itself is genius. Tropirocka?!....LOVE it! Bret deserves the win knowing Holly has been less than honest about her treatment of her teammates- from day one. She's horrible unless you agree- with HER. Depressing to think people like her are the ones who run the biz world these days. Didn't used to be this way.

Bret should win, he has worked harder than Holly and he did not feel well, went without sleep. Didn't see Holly doing any of that. HOLLY DOES NOT DESERVE TO WIN.
Reply
Bret is a hero and a winner. Period.

You idiots need to get a life. Its a tv show. Nothing more, and a waste of time. Who give a s..t who "wins". Its all about publicity for all of these losers. With all due respect to Brett of course for his sickness. Christ almighty can we stop worrying about celebrities for one friggin minute?
Reply
At least they are shedding light on devastating illnesses and trying to raise money for charities trying to find cures and/or help families deal with the challenges the diseases bring. Yes, they gain publicity which helps their careers, but maybe you could look at it as a win-win for all concerned. I, as someone directly affected by one of the illnesses highlighted in this show, appreciate what these celebrities are doing.
Holly is a back stabbing, lieing, control freak. She sat and told everyone how to do the tasks, takes credit for their work and blames them if she doesn't win. Cindy should have bitc.-slapped her when she started throwing her under the bus. Bret worked hard and treated everyone with respect whether they deserved it or not so he deserves to win

Holly R-P is simply too arrogant for me to want to have win. She words everything just right, to sound as if she' user friendly, when she's merely setting up the downfall for another. She's a smiling back-stabber, and I'd hate to have her as a friend in the real world, she'd eventually turn on you, and convince you it was your fault.

If Bret were chosen on his medical record then that would make Trump a bad business man. He might be a bad business man but think about it, Holly is also bad and may be what he wants. Apart from it Bret is a celebrity & I've never heard of Holly. Is Trump like a Scientology wacko to choose Bret for fame or Hard-line Holly. Will he vote femme, can a man still hold his own in 2010?
