Rumors stirred yesterday that the 12-year-old who looks like Justin Bieber and sounds like Lady Gaga, Greyson Chance, had been signed to a major label. Today, the New York Post confirms: Greyson's joining Gaga on Interscope Records.
"He signed [with Interscope] but the managers said we really couldn't talk about it," his sister, Alexa Chance, told the Post on the front porch of their "middle-class tract home" in Oklahoma.
The news comes on the seventh day of Greyson's whirlwind week -- a YouTube sensation that has racked up more than 17 million hits, an appearance on 'Ellen,' a phone call from Gaga herself.
"Greyson, you're so sweet and so talented, and I was so excited that you covered 'Paparazzi,'" Gaga told the sixth-grade prodigy during the 'Ellen' taping. "Everyone loves you so much. Just keep following your dreams and work really hard, and stay away from girls and be focused."
It seems those dreams have launched with unprecedented speed for young Greyson-san. Kelly Cheek, Greyson's music teacher at Cheyenne Middle School in Edmond, Oklahoma, told PopEater, "I have never seen anyone with his level or type of talent. We really hope he comes back to school for the rest of the year, but after this video, who knows what his future holds!"
