Everyone's abuzz not just about the 'American Idol' finale coming up, but that something's off this season and changes need to be made. As Simon Cowell departs the show to do 'The X-Factor,' we're left with Randy, Ellen and Kara ... all of whom may be casualties of some 'Idol' restructuring according to my sources. However, one very important blonde on 'Idol' is safe. Details after the jump!More 'Idol' Judges on the Chopping Block
With the ratings slump at 'American Idol' and Simon's departure just days away, TV insiders tell me to expect big changes in the format of next season's show -- and no, that doesn't mean Kara DioGuardi will host in a bikini.
"Everything is on the table," an 'Idol' insider tells me. "Nothing and no one is safe from change. There have been discussions about moving the show to New York, documenting the contestants living and fighting together in one big house and also eliminating the judges altogether. The only one who is safe is Ryan Seacrest."
Although no final decision has been made for any of the changes, those who were expecting that only Simon would be replaced will be shocked about the changes being discussed.
May I suggest that before the producers go throwing out the baby with the bathwater, they focus on finding more interesting contestants and change some of the archaic rules on the show? After all, isn't the music what we really care about?
Sandra's New Life as a Single Mom
Sources tell me that Sandra Bullock is adapting to her new single life with shocking ease thanks to her new man, baby Louis.
"Louis is a gift. Without him we would all be terrified about Sandra," a friend of the actress tells me.
"It has been the happiest and worst time of her life all rolled into one. The level of pain and suffering Jesse has caused her is equal to the joy that Louis has brought into her life. She lost her husband but gained a son. We are calling Louis her miracle baby."
And while Sandra settles into her new role as a single mom in New Orleans, sources tell me Jesse is struggling with his new role as America's cheating fool.
"Jesse is close to breaking. It's like a bad nightmare that he can't wake up from. Everything around him reminds him of Sandra and the life he threw away," an insider tells me. "I wouldn't be at all surprised if Jesse leaves LA altogether and tries to start a new life somewhere fresh."
I'm not sure running away is going to help with this one, Jesse, but at this point, trying something is better than doing nothing if you ask me.
Kendra Could Make $3+ Million From Sex Tape (!?!)
The president of Vivid Video, the company that plans to release Kendra Wilkinson's sex tape, tells Life & Style magazine, "Kendra could get 20 percent of the profits and make $3.2 million easily," leaving Kendra with a difficult choice.
Does she profit from the tape or forgo the money for the sake of her husband and son?
"Kendra wants it both ways. She wants the money but at the same time wants to pretend she is horrified about the release of the tape," a friend of the reality star tells me. "Kendra knows there is a lot of money she can make being a celebrity mom, endorsing all sorts of baby products. The last thing she wants is to frighten these brands away, yet at the same time, $3 million is a lot of money."
Kendra darling, I'm sure you will be fine. Playboy is somewhat classy and all, but you're not Meryl Streep! Make the money where you can.

My two fav shows (DWTS and AI) are on at the same time and i'm flipping from one channel to the next to catch both..I hate that.I think a good judge for AI would be Adam Lambert.

Its over for American Idol. When Dancing With the Stars kicks your butt in the ratings, you know you have problems.Revamping the show will be the final nail in the coffin.Simons show will bomb too.People are over it and have already moved on.Sorry

Why is Ryan the only one safe? To me, he is the most annoying part of the show -- the only thing that makes him watchable is seeing his and Simon's banter -- and how Simon continually makes him look like an idiot. American Idol definately needs revamping, but I think the first element of the show they should look at is Ryan.

I hope the main change is cancellation of the show.

Amen.
I love Ryan more than anyone else on the show! Wonderful personality with the contestants - plus he has the one HUGE thing that Simon lacks - TACT! Will NOT miss Simon at all, nor any of the other judges. I did love Randy, but he really needs to step it up, like he tells the contestants!

American Idol sure does need some revamping. This season was just boring.I'm not sure putting all of the contestants in a house and watching their daily lives a la The Real World will help either. I think people want to hear contestants who are talented and can sing. The reason the 2 prior seasons were popular is because some contestants were very talented, personable, and it made for good TV. All of the location and jude switches won't help in changing who the contestants are IMO.

DUMP SEACREST and the show will be all the better! Too much time spent "getting to know the contestants". Let them sing and sing. DUMP SEACREST TOO!!
