Gabriel Aubry Wants More Custody of Daughter With Halle Berry

Gabriel Aubry and Halle Berry have split -- but they are still hammering out the details of a custody arrangement for their 2-year-old daughter Nahla.

"It's been pretty difficult for Gabriel to see Nahla the last few weeks. He's really getting sick of it and it's getting to the point where he is seriously considering his options regarding pursuing permanent custody. He refuses to give up rights to his daughter, he loves her more than anything and is determined to be a regular, full-time fixture in her life," a source told RadarOnline.com.

"The latest issue is that Halle is due to move to South Africa during July, August and September to work on a movie and she wants to take Nahla with her full time. That would mean Gabriel not seeing his daughter for three whole months and there's no way he's going to allow that," the source added.

"Gabriel requested that he be allowed to keep Nahla with him in Los Angeles, but Halle wouldn't let that happen, so the two reached a total stalemate and it started getting nasty, with both of them looking into entering a legal battle," the insider continued.

But they came to an accord. "In the end, they reached an agreement. Basically Halle is going to pay Gabriel to be a kind of full-time nanny and to come to South Africa for the three months she's there, and to be Nahla's full-time caregiver."

According to the source, the two will be living in the same rented house, but Berry plans to rent another for Aubry if that doesn't work out.

"As it is, they are stuck with each other, and I guess all they can do is try to make things as harmonious as possible for the sake of Nahla – she is the number one priority for both of them – so maybe, for her sake, they can make it work."

So let me get this straight. He doesn't want his daughter to go off to South Africa because he wants to spend more time with her, but Berry is paying him to be a nanny to his own child? He was willing to take her to court for custody so that he wouldn't have to be away from his kid, but she's still supporting him even though he will be in the same damn house? Sounds to me like if he was suing for custody it wouldn't be for Nahla's benefit but for him to receive child support since alimony is out.

I'd say he's acting pretty grown up. He wants to be very present in the life of his toddler. Halle wants to take a job that will take her and the child out of the country for 3-4 solid months. How many father's would want that? The one that says it's OK is the one who really doesn't care about his child.

I agree! I mean a love Hally Berry. She a great actress. But she needs just lay off of love for a while and take care of her self an her daughter for a while. Because shes haven no luck with LOVE! And with this guy! ITS NO GETTING RID OF HIM! U NOW HAVE A BABY!!

He was asking for her to stay with him while she went off to Africa....he was not asking for money. I'm sure the agreement they came to was suggested by their lawyers, and it's a fair one...Why should she get to go all over the country and remove the baby from her father for months at a time just because she is a celebrity? She should be happy that this man wants to be involved in their childs life. The fact that he is getting paid for taking care of his own child has no relevance...what is he supposed to do, go to Africa and get a job while Berry films just so he can be near his own kid? The purpose for him going is to be a FULL TIME caretaker...Berry is the one going out of the country, she should pay. She obviously was going to pay someone else to take care of the child while she films, so who better than the babys father?

Nobody should be paid to take care of their own child. Pay for the trip? Absolutely. Pay for housing? Yes. Pay him a salary to "babysit" his own child? Ridiculous.

If he is living in the house with her and their child, why should she pay him like she would a nanny. He's watching his own child. Women have been doing what he's doing for years without pay. Following their husbands from state to state, country to county, taking care of their kids, missing out on careers and trust me they are not paid like nannies. Give me a break. The partner may give the individual spending money but it's nothing like what the working party would spend on a full time nanny. Trust me I know. Then again what DECENT human being would want their partner to pay them like a full time nanny to look after their OWN kid. Sounds like she found a GOLD DIGGER.

i understand that he wont`s to be in his kid life,but he also wont`s to get paid for it.let just say part of if it is for his child and for money.

Men always think they can have their cake and desert too. He is just like any other dumb azz selfish man. It is ashame mother's don't raise morally responsible men.
