'Tudors' Star Jonathan Rhys Meyers Back to Rehab

Irish actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers, star of Showtime's 'The Tudors,' has agreed to give rehab another try for his addiction to alcohol following the latest in a string of airport-related incidents, his publicist has confirmed.

Though the rep declined to give further details, a source close to the situation tells PEOPLE that the 32-year-old star "just really wants to get better," adding, "this has been an ongoing battle for him."

The 'Bend It Like Beckham' and 'Match Point' star first entered rehab in April 2007, but it had no lasting impact on the actor. Just months after seeking treatment, he was arrested in a Dublin airport for public intoxication, and in June 2009, he was detained at a Paris airport after an alleged drunken assault on a lounge employee.

His airport woes continued earlier this month when he was reportedly barred from boarding a flight out of New York's JFK airport because he had had too much to drink at a nearby VIP lounge.

According to RadarOnline.com, the actor became "belligerent" and "disruptive" with airport staff and was subsequently banned by United Airlines for future flights.

It's really sad to read about Jonathan Rys Meyers' alcohol problem. He is excellent in the Tudors. Another "totured" artist it seems. Get well Jonathan, so we can continue to enjoy your work!

tortured artist?? oh poor baby...he gets paid mega bucks to act like someone else. my heart bleeds for him (not). he's a pitiful drunk that can't or won't control himself. he should be ashamed of himself. he's given a golden opportunity to do something he supposedly loves (if not, change careers) and get well paid for it. if he can't be happy and sober doing that, he won't be happy or sober doing anything else either.

He was great as Elvis, and even better as Henry. But, The pressures of FAME, and the ability to stay in the public eye must be tremendous. However, He requires some Rehab and an empathetic therapist. The bottom line is--to get help, to then help yourself!

The only way for one to be rid of addiction is to recognize and want to seek help. Hopefully for this great actor, he wants it enough and is doen with the "runs."

it is hard enough to stay sober when one not famous, though do know many who are legends in their own mind. i have cancer. i live life best i can. living is the problem. i applaud this young man for taking action. many go through revolving door.

had to learn at 28 this is disease, mostly seems us irish catholics...dont like to see the yuks.hard enough as say to not believe ones good publicity as well as bad. i suppose cancer and fighting for life has given me insight to more than the disease labels on tables. bravo. yet for newbies getting sober, seen many famous that relapse. this does affect recovery. yes sponsored watched them die. sad for those who think maybe i can make it back. i say let the famous be. this a very emotional series and when one gets into character hard to get out of. let life be. yes sad to many die so young as we see. choices or non choices. give labels back and let this work. he is fantastic actor. showed up even if and when. obvious to many who see the disease. thin and thought is so grueling heck i might have drank having to be the henri' pray thee well.

He's Irish, so he's automatically a drunk? Well, that's being stereotypical, dontcha' think?

Some 50 year olds (which isn't old btw) look better than he does right now. Alcohol will age you beyond your years. I hope the lad get's the help he really needs.

I wish him well. It takes time and hopefully he will stick with it. My sister went through rehab a lot of times and she has been sober 5 years now. I adore him and he is such an amazing talent.

Jonathan Rhy Meyers I am probably one of your biggest fan's. You better pull yourself together and stop all the drugs or partying you look really really rough. Are you on a death trip, rememeber Heath Ledger and his party ways. You are getting older and everything you did when you were younger will play out on your skin, face, body. To put it in laymans terms you look gastly get your self together. Oh love the Tudors you make an excellant King Henry.
