Megan Fox: I Wasn't Fired, I Quit 'Transformers'

It's true -- Megan Fox will not return to 'Transformers 3' as Shia LaBeouf's love interest. But that doesn't mean the actress got fired.

"Megan Fox will not be starring in 'Transformers 3.' It was her decision not to return. She wishes the franchise the best," reps for FOX tell PEOPLE.

Earlier, a studio spokeswoman confirmed to Variety that Paramount decided against picking up Fox to star as Mikaela Banes in the third installment but declined to elaborate. Sources claim they will be casting a new female lead to star opposite LaBeouf in the upcoming movie.

Fox has a contentious relationship with 'Transformers' director Michael Bay.

The drama between Fox and Bay started last year when she told London's Wonderland Magazine, "[Bay] wants to be like Hitler on his sets, and he is. So he's a nightmare to work for, but when you get him away from set, and he's not in director mode, I kind of really enjoy his personality because he's so awkward, so hopelessly awkward ... He has no social skills at all. And it's endearing to watch him. He's vulnerable and fragile in real life and then on set he's a tyrant."

And according to Fox, Bay pushes his actors to the breaking point while filming. "Shia and I almost die when we make a 'Transformers' movie," she told the mag. "He has you do some really insane things that insurance would never let you do."

After those reports surfaced, she tried to clear the air when she accepted the award for Best Sci-Fi Actress at the fourth annual Scream Awards. She decided to take the opportunity to clear up her stance on the 'Transformers' franchise.

"I don't usually do this, but I wanted to say something," Fox said. "There have been a lot of false reports about how I feel about this movie. I just want to be very clear that I've always felt I'm a very ordinary part of an extraordinary film."

"The movie took me out of obscurity and gave me a career, and I'm completely grateful to everyone involved with this franchise."

Oh she is absolutely NOT replaceable. She is smokin hot and most guys I know watch because of Megan. Maybe she is an ordinary part of an extraordinary film but she will be missed. BTW I'm a woman and can appreciate her for her.

Ok lets not get panties in a wad..I know Megan and she is speaking accurately of Michael Bay. I dont think at this stage she needs "Transformers" anymore and she is entitled to her opinion. Let it go.

how can you play it off like she's not important... she was one of the leading starts in transformers, her not being in the 3rd is killing the series it's like taking robin out of batman... Except this robin is a super hot girl

The movie still has the potential to be good its just lost a huge factor behide it. Megan Fox should be replaced by someone just as good looking and with REAL actting skill such as Scarlett Johansson who, lets be honest, is much better then megan Fox!

I personally think that it's unfortunate the Megan Fox will not be participating in the 3rd Sequal of Transformers. I think that she's a talent actress and she has a long career ahead of her. I'm sure that director Michael Bay will find someone to replace her role in the film however, she's really not replaceable. She's very good at what she do and I wish her all the success in the future.

She probably needed an extra two hours in make-up to cover all that garbage she's placed on her skin, huge money when you consider a 5 month shoot and everyone else waiting for her to get her 'body art' covered.

Transformer will do just fine without Megan Fox. Her pathetic film jennifer's body only earned 14 millions, if all the credit goes to megan fox, that film should have made way more than that, but it didn't. When someone is so ugly on the inside, and so ungrateful, they simply don't deserve anything. Michael Bay literally gave her a career, without him, she is nothing. But instead of being thankful, she bad mouths him. Good for Michael Bay for firing her. Her career will be over soon, she will never be able to make any movies as big as transformer.
