U2's Bono Undergoes Emergency Back Surgery

U2 frontman Bono underwent emergency back surgery after suffering an injury during the band's rehearsals for their upcoming world tour, his spokesperson announced on Friday. According to the statement, Bono "will spend the next few days" in a Munich hospital "before returning home to recuperate." There's no word just yet as to how this will affect the band's upcoming U.S. concert dates.

According to the spokesperson, Bono was treated for an "injury sustained during tour preparation training." No detail was given as to what his injury was.

"Once his condition has been assessed further, a statement will be made regarding the impact on forthcoming tour dates," the spokesperson said.

U2 was scheduled to play several U.S. dates during the months of June and July -- kicking off with a show in Salt Lake City on June 3 -- and then making the jump overseas in August.

This is a continuation of the band's 2009 U2 360 tour, which grossed just shy of $110 million, making it the year's most profitable show, according to Billboard magazine.

u2 is by far the best rock band of the 80's, 90's and still produces awesome rock albums.. so what if bono wants to help the world. all of you haters probably watch american idol and crapping with the stars. You wouldn't know a real rock and roll band if they were sitting right next to. I am glad they are my favorite band. There songs are powerful and they never get old. Oh yeah, didn't they play the super bowl a few years ago. Walk on.....................

Great Band.
Great lead singer.
However, I hate to get constantly lectured to by a guy who has designated himself to be the savior of the world.
I thought that job was taken a couple of thousand years ago.
My wish for him : a speedy recovery, a great tour, many more albums, and a mouth he keeps shut when off stage.

My Family and I hope he feels better soon.. We went 2 C U2 in October last year and they were Wonderful.. And My Family and I were going 2 C them on June 6th and I hope We can still C U2 in Anaheim..But most of all We hope Bono is on the Mend soon...
