U2 frontman Bono underwent emergency back surgery after suffering an injury during the band's rehearsals for their upcoming world tour, his spokesperson announced on Friday. According to the statement, Bono "will spend the next few days" in a Munich hospital "before returning home to recuperate." There's no word just yet as to how this will affect the band's upcoming U.S. concert dates.According to the spokesperson, Bono was treated for an "injury sustained during tour preparation training." No detail was given as to what his injury was.
"Once his condition has been assessed further, a statement will be made regarding the impact on forthcoming tour dates," the spokesperson said.
U2 was scheduled to play several U.S. dates during the months of June and July -- kicking off with a show in Salt Lake City on June 3 -- and then making the jump overseas in August.
This is a continuation of the band's 2009 U2 360 tour, which grossed just shy of $110 million, making it the year's most profitable show, according to Billboard magazine.

"Walk on by, walk on through. Walk 'till you run, and don't look back, for here, I am". Best Frigging song EVER! Try listening to some old U2 you'll love it. Do not judge U2 unless you were a fan for years and years. I grew up with them. Sure, my sis says they turned a little weird the last years, but, I haven't been keeping track of this band.
