Kate Gosselin Got $500K 'Dancing' Paycheck

Kate Gosselin didn't manage to dance her way past week five on 'Dancing With the Stars,' but she did manage to dance all the way to the bank, earning over half a million dollars for her stint on the hit show. Yep, with some simple math, that means Kate banked more than most people make annually for each episode that she fox-trotted across the dance floor.

"Kate earned over $100,000 per week on 'Dancing,'" an insider tells me. "She's a single mom who has to pay the bills and feed those eight little mouths all by herself. Say what you want about her, but Kate will do anything to make sure her children have a bright future. Even making a fool out of herself on national TV."

It's unclear if Kate earned more money on the show each week than the other stars, however, one producer tells me he believes she did. "Kate was without doubt the main attraction to the show this year. She is ratings gold and can demand much more money than soap hunk Aiden Turner. Who? Precisely."

Considering Charlie Sheen just got himself $2 million per episode for a show that doesn't get nearly as many viewers as 'Dancing With the Stars,' maybe $100,000 per episode for Kate was a bargain! Thankfully for 'DWTS,' the contestants are only on for one season, so they don't have to worry about Kate or anyone else holding out for more cash next year.

Sadly Kate is worth little as far as I can see. She is a drama queen and mean as a snake. If her husband hit her the way she was always hitting him he would be hidden under the jail. People who hit others are not worthy of any good notority in life. That should include this nut case. She was to darn mean to be the Christian she claims she was.

I agree with Anne about her being a drama queen. I think that she should have paid them to let her dance (if that is what you can call what she did) instead of the other way around. I thought the show was Dancing with the Stars - not walking like a stiff broom!

Some people just love to hate Kate. I watched most of the +Eight episodes and those so-called "hits" on John were just little taps. I did not see her as mean at all. What I saw was a lazy clueless husband and a wife desperate for her husband to be a co-parent without having to be told how to tie the kids' shoelaces, etc. I never understand why all the Kate haters bother to read articles about her. Go do something else; why spew your hate all over the web?! Be happy, do something that makes you happy.

Sorry Lisa and Suzy the Christian. I know mean when I see it, I watched her show for a long time when they were on TLC. I saw her hit her husband. Hitting a spouse is against the law where I live. If you think its okay that speaks volumns about you. As for you Lisa, go swiffer yourself dearie. I stand by what I said. Kate is a horrible wife and mother. And she does NOT act like the Christian she claims to be

ANNE, I TOTALY AGREE WITH YOU. SHE IS A SINGLE MOM, WHAT MADE HER THAT WAY. SHE DID. SHE HAD NO RESPECT FOR JOHN SINCE SHE MET HIM. LOOK AT THE WAY SHE TREATED HIM WITH CAMERA'S RUNNING. WHAT HAPPENS WHEN CAMERAS TURN OFF. ANYWAY, IF SHE CAN GET 50 K FOR DANCING, OR PRETEND TO DANCE, GOOD FOR HER. BUT I HATE THIS SINGLE MOM STUFF.

Anne, you are exactly right. Kate Gosselin is a despicable piece of human debris and you couldn't pay me to watch her or anything she is on. Dancing with the has-beens or never were's is a pathetic show with moronic Hollywierd viewers. She is not a single mother, she is a divorced mother with joint custody and I certainly hope her ex and the kids get at least half of her grossly overpaid bounty.

Anne, I agree whole-heartedly with you. She has no talent & why she was on the show, I will never know!! I think she's a greedy, publicity seeking drama queen and very stuck on herself. Her ex is no better than she is and I wonder what his/her next ploy to get more publicity, money, etc. will be. She says she's a good mom then why is she gone from those kids! Who's watching them while she's "on the scene"?

To bad you all can't find more important things to write about than Kate Gosselin. It is plain to see you all don't like her fine, but lets not be fools here, anyone of you would do the same if you had the chance, Jealous are we? Maybe you all should concentrate on the mess in the gulf and what the news is not telling the public. How the federal goverment army corps of engineers has blocked the state and local goverments in La from helping themselves by pulling up sand from the ocean floor and creating new barrier islands to protect the wetlands. You all have not said anything about it. Tune into their local stations there and you will find the corps has to do studies first while all the wildlife are drowning in oil. So do everyone a favor and write about something that really matters instead of taking out you frustration on a women who is using her 15 minutes of fame to her advantage.

Yeah, Kate's gotta do what Kate's gotta do. Plenty of women have raised 8 kids in this country. The media acts like she is th eonly person to raise 8 kids on Earth.
Kate will use her 500K to get more plastic surgery and cosmetic trickery done! She ain't using it on her kids--that's for certain! Her kids are going to turn out horrible...just as horrible as she is--you'll see. Monkey see, monkey do.

I've seen sacks of potatoes that are more graceful than Kate the clod. Hopefully that money will be spent on the children and paying her bills. She certainly didn't earn it by "dancing". It was literally painful to watch her.

Ditto. I didn't start watching the show this season til she was voted off. Ratings gold? Fool's gold maybe. I'd bet plenty that she lost in the voting long before the producers finally gave her the boot. She sucked worse than Master P from what I saw on PopEater. I wish she'd marry a Saudi prince so she could have all the wealth she feels she needs...and move far far away from the USA.

She was horrible on the dance floor and she was horrible to poor Tony her dance partner. She kept talking about her 8 kids that lived to watch her on the show. I wonder what her kids will say when they are old enough to realize that she has been exploiting them all along. She must need the money for more cosmetic surgery. Too bad she can't BUY a better personality.
