Kate Gosselin Got $500K 'Dancing' Paycheck

Kate Gosselin didn't manage to dance her way past week five on 'Dancing With the Stars,' but she did manage to dance all the way to the bank, earning over half a million dollars for her stint on the hit show. Yep, with some simple math, that means Kate banked more than most people make annually for each episode that she fox-trotted across the dance floor.

"Kate earned over $100,000 per week on 'Dancing,'" an insider tells me. "She's a single mom who has to pay the bills and feed those eight little mouths all by herself. Say what you want about her, but Kate will do anything to make sure her children have a bright future. Even making a fool out of herself on national TV."

It's unclear if Kate earned more money on the show each week than the other stars, however, one producer tells me he believes she did. "Kate was without doubt the main attraction to the show this year. She is ratings gold and can demand much more money than soap hunk Aiden Turner. Who? Precisely."

Considering Charlie Sheen just got himself $2 million per episode for a show that doesn't get nearly as many viewers as 'Dancing With the Stars,' maybe $100,000 per episode for Kate was a bargain! Thankfully for 'DWTS,' the contestants are only on for one season, so they don't have to worry about Kate or anyone else holding out for more cash next year.

I am so tired of hearing that she has eight kids to feed, clothe, etc.. so that is why these big paychecks are due to her.. BS... Most families don't make what she does in years... Why is she so special? Yes, she had eight kids... but, so do many families have alot of kids.. She's a arrogant, witch that deserves nothing handed to her... No wonder her marriage didn't survive..

I agree with you Vicki. I have 5 kids and I will never see a million dollars and never 500,000 either. She is a nurse and by her saying that she can't make it on a nurse's salary is ridiculous. My husband makes what a nurse does and I am unemployed right now and we make it with a family of 7.And she should have a fortune in the bank by now and her husband is paying her child support. I know that college is expensive but kids can take student loans. That's what my kids did and they are all doing great and they learned things that those Gosselin kids will never know. She is just greedy and wants all this fame, and for what? She has no talent that I have ever witnessed and her poor children are not any happier or more fortunate for being millionaires. I hate this new mindset that everyone is not worthy unless you're on television or you don't have what the Jones's have. Money truly doesn't buy happiness. Kate never looks happy to me and neither do her children.

I repeat...why do you read about her if you're sick of her? Doesn't make sense to me unless you just like to hate and write about your hate - only reason I can think of. Again, get happy some other more positive way.

I think she is an amazing mother, I was a single mother with 3, and that was hard, just add 5 more and she what happens..I would have done anything for my children just as she is. Great job Kate.

Kate Gosselin is a FRAUD in every sense of the word. She has gotten rich pimping her children. I am going to BARF if I see this lying, manipulative, cold, hateful, self-entitled, self-important, TLC-manufactured POS one more time. Kate cares about no one BUT Kate and her married lover/bodyguard. She makes me puke.

Sadly Kate is all about Kate... She wants the fame and fortune. This isn't about supporting her kids because the type of projects she is taking, provides very little time for her children. She could have worked in her profession and been home every single night with those children, reading to them and cuddling them. Look for problems with these children in the future.

This woman is responsible for allowing herself to get pregnant with all of those unattractive kids of hers. She was fortunate enough for some doctor to step in and offer to fix her horrible looking fat and saggy stomach. She made a small fortune in a show that bored the hell out of half the country and then she left her ugly husband. Now they have paid this woman for attempting to dance between her little childish fits backstage. Unbelievable what TV will do for those jerks and losers that us jerks and losers actually waste our time watching. I don't care if I ever see this woman or her ugly brood again.

I am ssssssssooooooooo tired of hearing her talked about as a single mom - Well SO AM I - she has more help than anyone could ever need.
There are people being paid by TLC to watch them while she is "working"!!! I get to go to work 8-9 hours a day - my son is in school (I drop off and I pick up) and I have to pay for after school care (from my own pocket) or a sitter. I don't have the luxury of just going and doing what I want without the worry of who is going to watch my kid.
I understand she has 6 more kids than I do but she also has an entourage to help her. Her marital status is single but she is not a "single mom".

Like it or not it's the people that control the networks that has a love affair with kate. And as long as that is there then expect her to make more money, more money, and more money. It's a shame that really think she has something of value. Wait until the "BIG LOST".

Kate should just go and take care of her kids. Where were they when she was doing the show? I bet they were with the nanny. I wish she would just go and disappear. I am so sick of hearing about her and seeing her. Kate gets a new hair cut and it is all over the news, Kate gets a new pair of shoes, it is all over the news. She can't dance and she sucks as a mother! What a disgrace to all the mothers who actually care for and love their children. All Kate sees is KIDS = MONEY!!!!! GO HOME KATE and leave us all alone, we don't care about you. Feel sorry for the kids though.
