Kate Gosselin Got $500K 'Dancing' Paycheck

Kate Gosselin didn't manage to dance her way past week five on 'Dancing With the Stars,' but she did manage to dance all the way to the bank, earning over half a million dollars for her stint on the hit show. Yep, with some simple math, that means Kate banked more than most people make annually for each episode that she fox-trotted across the dance floor.

"Kate earned over $100,000 per week on 'Dancing,'" an insider tells me. "She's a single mom who has to pay the bills and feed those eight little mouths all by herself. Say what you want about her, but Kate will do anything to make sure her children have a bright future. Even making a fool out of herself on national TV."

It's unclear if Kate earned more money on the show each week than the other stars, however, one producer tells me he believes she did. "Kate was without doubt the main attraction to the show this year. She is ratings gold and can demand much more money than soap hunk Aiden Turner. Who? Precisely."

Considering Charlie Sheen just got himself $2 million per episode for a show that doesn't get nearly as many viewers as 'Dancing With the Stars,' maybe $100,000 per episode for Kate was a bargain! Thankfully for 'DWTS,' the contestants are only on for one season, so they don't have to worry about Kate or anyone else holding out for more cash next year.

It'll never be enough money. She could make 100 million and it still won't be enough and she will still poor mouth "I'm a single mom and have to work to feed my starving kids". She does it because she wants to be famous so badly, not because she needs the money.

She started out as a stay at home mom taking care of 8 kids and THAT is why people watched her show. Now she never stays home and has other people taking care of her kids so she can canoodle with famous people. Her priorities shifted 180 degrees.

She has some deep deep issues that revolve around her need to hoard money and have only the finest things in life...at the expense of her kids future mental health and safety.

You gotta be kidding. Her pathetic dancing was not worth any money. After she left, the show was worth watching. And, I too, am getting sick and tired of hearing about the 'poor single mother trying to raise 8 kids'. She doesn't even see the kids. And the money goes for hair, clothes, spas, restaurents, traveling, etc......

I think it's all about herself. Not her kids. Kate LOVES attention and getting money on top of that. She went from a hands on mom to a phoney fake looking sad excuse of a role model. She gives us mom's a bad name. She does not represent me!

All you people who didn't watch Kate dance really missed out. It was the funniest thing I've seen on tv in a long time. Granted I had to mute the tv when she actually spoke, but the dancing was very entertaining.

Way to go Kate!!! Forget all the negatives. You have my vote to do whatever it takes to bring money for the kids AND yourself. Nothing anyone on these boards wouldn't do if they had the chance to give their family all they ever wanted. You won't have to worry about what to feed them like I did as a single mom of only 3. Run with it and take what ever you can get while you can. That dead beat ex of yours isn't going to help now anymore than he did when you were married to him and I might add - supporting him then too. He'll be after half your money because no one wants his whiny face or listen to him tell what a great husband and daddy he was. I just picture him always with a cell phone to his ear or texting. Hmm which foolinsh young woman was he talking to then?

IF TLC AND DWTS WANT TO WASTE MONEY THATS THEIR BUSINESS, I QUIT WATCHING, KATE IS LAME AND HER DEBUT AS AN ANNOUNCER WAS A TRAGEDY. ONE GOOD THING SHE DID FOR ME AND THE BOOK INDUSTRY WAS I AM NOW READING AGAIN.......AND NOT ANY OF HER BOOKS, IF YOU COULD EVEN CONSIDER THEM AS GOOD BOOKS.SHE SHOULD TAKE THE RATS NEST OFF HER HEAD AND GO BACK TO TRYING TO BE A MOM.

I would do anything in the world to support my kids and not use welfare (which I never have). Kate is very organized and a wonderful mother to those beautiful kids. Jon is an idiot and never helped unless Kate got mad. Go Kate, your awesome. My kids had latch key and not nannies and either way it is hard to be away from them, but you gotta do what you gotta do. Congrats to you Kate for doing what you have to for your family. You are so much better without Jon.

Enough of Kate...She ruined DWTS the for me and I did not start watching until she was voted off...I agree with other posters that wonder why she is on TV at all...She has no talent and has nothing to offer...I heard that she will be on ET...I suggest everyone boycott the show and advertisers until she is booted off TV just like she was booted of DWTS...

What is her talent? Birthing babies?? And being a me me me me me!!! person. She can not dance, can not act in fact can not do anything but give birth and people follow her life??? I suggest people tune this non-celebrity out of their lives and suggest she get one. Make all the money cause ALL of those kids will be in therapy for years!

I did not watch Dancing With The Stars this season because Kate Gosselin was on it. I have kids, work a full time job and struggle to take care of things, like most other people. I have no respect for her and feel that she is using her children to get ahead. As I said from the beginning of Jon & Kate plus Eight...pretty soon, it'll be called Jon minus 9 because if anyone ever spoke to me the way she spoke to Jon, I'd run too.

I love how some of you think Kate is this loyal person who deserves the best. Do any of you live 5 min away from where she lives? Have any of you went to the church that donated so many things,money and time to her? No, I bet you dont and I bet you also don't know that Kate has never once said Thank You, Has never once given back to any church,organization or people that helped her through the most hardest time of her life. Its a very sat situation.

Kate thinks she fooling everyone about her priorities in life. (meaning doing it "all for the kids") I think most of us with a brain can see right through her crap. The Kate supporters are few and far between. Anything that I am watching on TV where her face pops up....The TV gets changed immediately. She has nothing of any importance to say. She is a waste of time and a horrible excuse for a mother.
