Kate Gosselin Got $500K 'Dancing' Paycheck

Kate Gosselin didn't manage to dance her way past week five on 'Dancing With the Stars,' but she did manage to dance all the way to the bank, earning over half a million dollars for her stint on the hit show. Yep, with some simple math, that means Kate banked more than most people make annually for each episode that she fox-trotted across the dance floor.

"Kate earned over $100,000 per week on 'Dancing,'" an insider tells me. "She's a single mom who has to pay the bills and feed those eight little mouths all by herself. Say what you want about her, but Kate will do anything to make sure her children have a bright future. Even making a fool out of herself on national TV."

It's unclear if Kate earned more money on the show each week than the other stars, however, one producer tells me he believes she did. "Kate was without doubt the main attraction to the show this year. She is ratings gold and can demand much more money than soap hunk Aiden Turner. Who? Precisely."

Considering Charlie Sheen just got himself $2 million per episode for a show that doesn't get nearly as many viewers as 'Dancing With the Stars,' maybe $100,000 per episode for Kate was a bargain! Thankfully for 'DWTS,' the contestants are only on for one season, so they don't have to worry about Kate or anyone else holding out for more cash next year.

would you all be so up on kate if you weren't checking out everything shes doing. For hating her you sure do have a lot of nasty things to say. which I would guess is why she gets the big bucks. the more you talk the higher her demand. i personally enjoy following the kids they are great and you are a bunch of green loosers

Kate should have paid them to keep her on the show. She was the most horrible performer that they have had. Frankly, I liked her much better when she was overweight and didn't have a clue to dress.

When are the media going to get this right?! Kate is NOT a single Mom. She is a divorced Mom. These kids have a father. I was a single Mom when I lost my husband when our daughter was only 6 years old. I am tired of everyone using the term "single-mom" as if the children have no father. They have fathers, they just don't live full time with them.

contestants when she was so horrible! I bet they would have a lot to say, but the show is still going on.

I can't stand Kate, but I do understand that she has 8 kids to raise and it can be especially hard when 6 of them are the same age. She was horrible on DWTS though and she didn't deserve any more money for being on the show than any of the other stars did. Supposedly ABC brought her in for the extra publicity, but I thought the show had high ratings to begin with. If you ask me, ABC was sinking pretty low when they brought her on. So what, are they gonna have Jon on next year?

I can't believe Kate got over 5 mil. for Dancing. First of all she couldn't dance at all and secondly, she drove poor Tony to almost quit. She is such a drama queen.

And the fact that she is going to be on the last show "dancing" has me flabergasted. I just want her to go away and be the mother she should be.

Don't drool too badly folks, the government will take close to half of it in taxes. Getting big hunks of money like this is not all the sugar and cream you think. They never report how much these people have to pay the IRS.

How about Kate (and John) focus on taking care of kids instead of stardom. Where are their priorities? Why have kids, seek stardom then have the kids raised by a nanny and end up crazy? Haven't they learned from this mistake from others past?

Why (and I think we all know the reason why) wasn't that printed?
You can like Kate or you don't need to like Kate - the bottom line is that she will do it for her kids. Pray tell - what is HE doing? Hmmmmm - could he be partying it up while his lawyers devise a plan to sue for custody so he can receive spousal support? And not have to work? And continue partying? Anyone care to guess?

Lets face it folks, she might be a bit self absorbed but It's really all for the kids and their furture.
Personally, I think that doing "dancing" was the best thing for Kate. She seems so less uptight now. I think after all the stuff she and John went through Kate forgot what it was like to have friends, to socialize with real adult people. I see a difference in her whole being. Good luck Kate I have really developed respect for you. Keep up the positive work...
