Kate Gosselin Got $500K 'Dancing' Paycheck

Kate Gosselin didn't manage to dance her way past week five on 'Dancing With the Stars,' but she did manage to dance all the way to the bank, earning over half a million dollars for her stint on the hit show. Yep, with some simple math, that means Kate banked more than most people make annually for each episode that she fox-trotted across the dance floor.

"Kate earned over $100,000 per week on 'Dancing,'" an insider tells me. "She's a single mom who has to pay the bills and feed those eight little mouths all by herself. Say what you want about her, but Kate will do anything to make sure her children have a bright future. Even making a fool out of herself on national TV."

It's unclear if Kate earned more money on the show each week than the other stars, however, one producer tells me he believes she did. "Kate was without doubt the main attraction to the show this year. She is ratings gold and can demand much more money than soap hunk Aiden Turner. Who? Precisely."

Considering Charlie Sheen just got himself $2 million per episode for a show that doesn't get nearly as many viewers as 'Dancing With the Stars,' maybe $100,000 per episode for Kate was a bargain! Thankfully for 'DWTS,' the contestants are only on for one season, so they don't have to worry about Kate or anyone else holding out for more cash next year.

Kate got paid, but so did the other contestants. Although she does not seem to be very nice, who knows what she has gone through. Perhaps she knew about the other woman. I would not be too pleasant if my husband left me with one child, let alone 8, to be with another woman.

I'm a fan of Kate plus 8. I watched almost every episode and saw what Jon was really made of. That man couldn't do anything on his own. Kate had to baby him more than all the 8 together. I believe she was a shrew because she had to be. And Jon used the show so he could quit his job and hang around the house. What kind of a person does that make him?

Georgia, you seem like a fan of KG but are you being realistic?
When you are married to someone, you do not make them feel small or less than a loving partner. She not only humiliated him but she did it in front of an audience. It should concern you, that you applaud that. Is this the way you would treat your partner?
If he was more like a child, in your opinion, her treatment of him was undeserved. And no one has to be a shrew, they choose to be. And Kate quit her job also for the sake of making money off her kids. You forget that before they were offered this show, they had a plan and it had to include going back to work as a nurse.

When was the last time you tried to potty train 2 toddlers and feed and diape 6 babies and work? The cost of child care would have been more than her pay check. It was a wise decision to stay at home. And it was a wise decision to be on TV. It never hurt the 8. The camera crew was there almost from the start. The 8 looked upon them as family. And when Jon forced the crew out the 8 were heart broken. The main series I remember Kate was cooking, the 8 were hungry and cryinng and Jon was just standing there. Kate had to ask him to put them in their highchairs. Then she had to ask them to put their bibs on. Then she filled their plates and set them on the counter. Jon just stood there. She asked him for help and he didn't move(off in his own little world). So she yelled at him. He deserved it. When someone edited the show they decided to keep that piece in the program. A pitty shot for poor old Jon? I had 3 sons and at times they were more than I could handle. God bless Kate and the love she gives her babes. She even goes on public TV knowing she has never been a dancer and knowing she is going to be ridaculed to earn money for the 8. And when they split Jon took his share of the money and partied where all the world could see. I still say the man's a selfish idiot. And one day his children will look back and see that for themselves.

You have to hand it to her. Who else to you know who can bring home that kind of money for dancing and not even know how and don't even try to learn.

We now pay mean spirited, untalented self seekers half a million dollars for a couple of months "work". All those amazing people who contribute to our daily lives would, on average, need SEVEN years to make such a sum. Think about it!

Oh I quess we shall feel pity for kate to have herself induced with fertility drugs and then take care of the nijas too. Be f real, this is reality not the show. early someone respond that she should marry a prince. You will have to know how to dance to join his harem and it's definitely not Kate Goldghostlink!

Now maybe Kate can stay home with those kids, where she belongs. They should be her priority.

can you make a living staying at home? most mom's and dad's i know have to leave their kids to provide for them. i know, you're an e-bay millionaire.....but most people leave the house to go to work and do not take the kids with them....

Give the woman a break. She's doing what she has to do to provide a life for her 8 children. If she's gone for periods of time, it is because she is earning what makes this country go around..money. Children, of all kinds, have parents who are gone from the home for days/weeks/months and years at a time. They seem to adapt and grow into good adults. The money that was earned while the show was popular was put into trust for the kids future. Thank God, Jon would have probably spent that too. We all knew that Kate had OCD. It doesn't take much to turn a person into a shrew on a regular basis. Medication helps, but it is not a cure. Millions of people suffer from this. Let's back-off a bit and realize that anyone of us would probably be doing the same thing if we had 8 kids to provide for.

I can not understand being from her area and seeing good people loose there children from a statement......Montgomery county court houses stink!!!! I know she is paying off people!!!!! Mostly the family court.....They will give anybody children to anybody and without talking to the parent!!!! Judge bertin is the queen of that.....f.....he put may children with well known drug users-sell-fraud-theft.......etc....

I'm a single mom too and I can tell you for a fact that it doesn't cost that damn much to feed kids and put clothes on their backs. I don't understand why people feel sorry for her!

I personally like Kate. However, I don't get needing all that money. She doesn't need to live in such a large house. And she doesn't need to get hair extentions and other cosmetic things done. She spends a lot of money on herself! If she didn't feel entitled to such a lavish lifestyle, she would do just fine.

Tell Kate to get a REAL JOB. She is a nurse, why doesn't she try and do that?? What do you think all the other single moms do who have to raise their kids?? Do they all go on TV and make fools of themselves?? Get some pride Kate and go to WORK. Why don't you make your ex-hubby get a job too and raise the kids TOGETHER??? She just loves the attention, she's using the excuse to "raise" her kids to go on TV. What will she do when they grow up?? I guess she'll have to get a REAL JOB then.
