Crystal Bowersox's 'Up to the Mountain': An Exclusive First Listen

Exclusive: PopEater is bringing you the first single from 'American Idol' runner-up Crystal Bowersox -- a cover of Patty Griffin's 'Up to the Mountain.'

Bowersox isn't the first 'Idol' powerhouse to take on this tune. Kelly Clarkson performed it on 'Idol Gives Back' in 2007.

The singer's rendition earned raves from the judges' table last night. Listen Here

The winners are always chosen by teenage girls who are faithful to call in and vote, but.....she wasn't the kind of performer that those kids go for, even though she was by far the best and the one with the most star potential. I think she's the best to ever star on that show.

I totally agree with you Phyllis. The trend I see in Idol is the person not picked, like Adam Lambert last season, already has a better chance of succeeding, but I feel it would be better if they chose the real Idol winner-CRYSTAL! Just have the trophy would mean a lot to her. She reminds me a lot of Janis Joplin, but with a softer voice. I feel she wil go further than Lee. She has a much better voice and style.

and the corn rolls scream American Idol" Winner" 2010 lol that is why you lost. A white girl with a good voice trying to mack black vibes. The look was all wrong. And hard for America to embrace it was a no brainer. You should have gone with more of a Taylor/Carrie (wholesome Untalented/want to be) look. Best of luck.

Yes they sure do, just because all the girls thinks he's cute. Just like last year that Chris Allen won cuz all the girls thought he was cute. IM so sick of this voting crap, that they should of just picked Crystal last night becuase the judges loved her singing. Lee could'nt sing worth of crap.

America sure got it wrong, Crystal should have been the winner of 'AMERICAN IDOL 2010 ". One of a kind she is, and so refreshing. Can't wait to buy her first CD. And, don't change a thing about yourself. We love you Crystal.

She has a fantastic voice and clearly should have been the winner. America got it wrong this time. Also, I was really hoping she would take her hair down for this one performance.She is so pretty but I bet she is beautiful with it down. I don`t believe this is the last we have seen of her. She will go far.

Crystal your should of won, I don't care what the voting said, you will be better then him. My hubby and I watched you sing on every show and just loved your voice. We both said you sing just like Janis Joplin and you did. America got it wrong, I honestly don't think it's America. I think it's rigged just like last year. When Chris Allen won. He didn't deserve it at all. So this too will be my last time watching American Idol. Until they learn not to cheated.

I only watch Idol on occasion with my daughter after the tryouts.When I watched the first episode of the final 12,I told my daughter I picked Crystal to win it.After pt1 of the finale,how could they really expect people to believe this contest isn't rigged.This young lady smoked the kid from Chicagoland on all counts.I believe her career will be a lot more successful than Lee's.My daughter called it another Daultry season.

America always gets it wrong except for season 1. The original Kelly Clarkson is the best "idol". Well at least the runner ups do really good in the career usually out ranking there idol counter parts. America is really tone deef. Lee all he has such a raspy voice and has trouble staying on key. Im sick of american idol after adam lost last year i have no faith in the show.
