'Privileged' Star Joanna Garcia and New York Yankee Nick Swisher Engaged

It's a Hollywood ending for New York Yankee outfielder Nick Swisher! He is engaged to actress Joanna Garcia, her rep confirms to PEOPLE. The couple started dating last fall.

Garcia, also known for her roles in 'Reba' and 'Gossip Girl,' was previously engaged to Justin Timberlake's business partner Trace Ayala.

Swisher hasn't been shy about when talking to about his bride-to-be. While stopping by 'Late Night with Jimmy Fallon' last September, he told the audience. "[Joanna] is amazing.

The outfielder isn't the first Yankee to romance a Hollywood starlet. Shortstop and infamous bachelor Derek Jeter is dating 'Friday Night Lights' actress Minka Kelly and third baseman Alex Rodriguez has dated Kate Hudson and is currently linked to Cameron Diaz.

Garcia will star in next fall's ABC comedy 'Better Together.'

Swisher's fiancee has the requisite anatomy, which all the guys go for. Why not? They're famous & want to sport a beautiful woman on their arm. I always wonder, though, if these couples will grow old together. I guess they don't think about that. "Live for the moment"!

Patting teammates butts are one of biggest thrills of jocks, next to group showering. Not exactly sure why they do those sort of things, but it must hide some latent tendencies that I shudder to think about. I would figure just saying, "Good play or nice catch" would be more than sufficient.
