'Shaved Bieber' Creator Gets Death Threats From Justin Bieber Fans
Those Bieberettes or Beliebers, as
Justin Bieber's fans apparently like to be called, are a tough bunch. While they might melt into sobbing, screaming mush at the sight and sound of the beloved hair-swished teen heartthrob, a Toronto man who developed a piece of software called 'Shaved Bieber' to censor the Canadian singer from your Internet is receiving death threats and other extreme backlash.
On one
website, an irate 15-year-old girl from Switzerland named Alex even went so far as to compare him to Hitler. "I just wanted to give you the heads up that you will have MANY people that are enraged with you. I'm talking 5,000,000. Me included," Alex wrote. "I realize that you're just stating an opinion, but what you're doing is going back to World War II all over again. Hitler wanting to erase Jews from society -- you want to erase Justin Bieber..."
In an interview with
Canada's QMI Agency, Greg Leuch said he invented 'Shaved Bieber,' an add-on to the Firefox browser, with the help of Free Art and Technology Lab after he read complaints of so-called "Bieber fever" online and received pleas from his buddies.
"One said, 'Dude, you have to do something so I can quit seeing Justin Bieber online,'" Leuch told the Sun, a division of QMI. "I was like, 'Damn, I can do this.'" He finished the task six hours later, according to the report.
QMI's Don Peat writes: "He's taking the threats in stride and has posted them online as they appear. Other fans have been reduced to tears by the new application. One Belieber used her Twitter account to tweet the horror of having the Internet without Justin Bieber after her parents downloaded the program."
"Mum put that shaved bieber thing on all our computers!" she tweeted. "I'm like crying, I hate u sooo much mum."
Leuch told QMI that he is working on other 'Shaved' software after receiving requests to block
Lady Gaga,
Paris Hilton and
Britney Spears.

You know, at first I was on board advocating for kids who wanted to listen to him. He's not raunchy, or talking about drugs or unsavory topics, but now I'm convinced that his music has subliminal messages in it. There has to be some sort of explanation for this type of crazy. He almost has a literal cult following. I don't know of any artists around my time that teenage girls were threatening to kill over. Is he sending out terrorist recruitment messages or has the world just enteres a whole new realm of instability? These little girls are nuts!

This is the exact same thing being repeated just like way back to the Beatles - 50 years ago!!!! History repeats itself people, get a clue! I have a question, if you can get software to block Justin why can't everyone get filters to block out the dam porn! I am always told that if porn offends me not to look at it....so.....stupid people, don't look at it, don't read the articles if you hate him so much and what's with all the jealousy anyway? Where can I get this, is it only available in Canada? I googled it, but can't seem to find it. What a marvelous use of technology! It would be even better if it could also erase every Disney star, all of Hugh Hefner's rejects and every American Idol contestant since Kelly Clarkson.

I don't see what the big deal is. It's an opinion, I don't like Justin Bieber and I'm tired of seeing him everywhere. Sometimes there's no choice and you can't avoice seeing his name. No one is forcing anybody to download that software for Firefox. It's a choice. The fact that these tween girls are sending death threats over something like this has me worried about America's future.

Well I just went to youtube and listened to this kid. I have to say that overall he is a very mediocre talent. Honestly, what's the attraction? He's just the latest promotion. Five years from now everybody will be saying Justin who!!!

O.K...This guy has NOTHING to be afraid of..We are talking about Justin Beiber fans here.. It's not like we are talking about a tuff bunch of people who have a shot at doing anything about it. We are talking about itty bitty kids and dorky little pimple faced teens. Hopefully there aren't any adults involved in listening to a little boy singing like a whiney little girl. I have NOTHING against Justin Beiber, BUT I honestly thought he was a girl the first time I heard him sing. I have also seen him on some talk shows/heard him on the radio talking and he sounds like a pretty cool/funny little kid. SO...I'm not sure why someone would waste their time making a site like that about what seems to be a nice little boy. Jealousy? Could be. And to the hormonal pimple faced little fans who are responding to this guy, you are just as guilty as he is for feeding into this B.B...Everyone needs to get themselves some lives and move on...
