Stars Pay Tribute to Dennis Hopper

From Peter Fonda to Marlee Matlin, stars around the Internet are paying tribute to the late Dennis Hopper, who
died yesterday after a lengthy battle with prostate cancer.
Earlier this morning,
EW.com obtained statements from three of Hopper's co-stars -- Peter Fonda, Gene Hackman and Isabella Rossellini.
"Dennis introduced me to the world of Pop Art and 'lost' films. We rode the highways of America and changed the way movies were made in Hollywood. I was blessed by his passion and friendship," said Peter Fonda, with whom Hopper co-wrote the 1969 classic 'Easy Rider.'
"As an actor, one is always taken by someone who is different. An iconoclast, Dennis was an artist and I will always treasure having worked with him. He will be missed," said 'Hoosiers' co-star Gene Hackman.
Meanwhile, Isabella Rossellini, who appeared opposite Hopper in David Lynch's Oscar-nominated thriller 'Blue Velvet,' had this to say: "When I first met Dennis on the set of
Blue Velvet, he had just come out of rehab. I was afraid of him, but Dennis turned out to be infinitely kind, compassionate and understanding. He had gone to hell and came back from it with great wisdom. It will take me a while to realize and accept he isn't with us any longer."

You never ceased to give me cause for wanting more as the credit rolled by. When someone asked me who I thought the cream of the crop is in Hollywood, your name was always at the top of the list. I don't care what you did in your personal life, that did not affect me at all, but your performances always left me wanting more. You were always brilliant and spot on. Thanks for the memories, and RIP

His portrayal of an epiletic on a segment of NBC'S "MEDIC" aired before "REBEL" started shooting. One of his best, sadly -- not remembered.

OMG! Bob Dorff, You just reminded me of that "Medic" episode with Dennis Hopper. Only, back then, being 7 or 8 yrs. old I did not pay attention to who the epileptic was played by. I never forgot his face, tho. HOLY COW. Thankyou, Bob, for making me remember a very gifted actor.
