'Ecstatic' Celine Dion Pregnant With Twins

Less than a year after suffering a tragic miscarriage, Celine Dion is pregnant again, this time with twins. The singer's husband, Rene Angelil, told PEOPLE they couldn't be happier.

"We're ecstatic," he said. "Celine is just hoping for a healthy pregnancy. She was hoping for one baby and the news that we are having two is a double blessing."

According to her publicist, the 42-year-old Dion is 14 weeks pregnant and plans to find out the sex of the babies next month. The five-time Grammy winner had been going through several rounds of in-vitro fertilization in recent months.

Dion's miscarriage last year came just months after she announced her pregnancy. She appeared on Oprah Winfrey's show in February to discuss the tragedy.

"It's life. You know? A lot of people go through this, but it's not being told because it's not in the newspaper," Dion said.

Dion and her husband, 68, who is also her manager, have one son, 9-year-old Rene Charles.

congrats to them but after what They went through last time with the miscarriage I feel like they jumped the gun with the announcement this time as after a traumatic emotional & physical loss like that most people would be skittish to announce a new pregnancy particularly celebrities as they'll get harped on weather the pregnancy is smooth or something goes wrong again it's not like it was in the 50's 60's & 70's where when a big star went through a pregnancy loss they got to grieve for that heartbreaking event in private

like Vanessa Redgrave when she miscarried her 4th child in 1971 granted she was also at the time a double oscar nominated actress on her way to her 3rd nomination so her situation was different than Celines

A lot of people wait until they are in their second trimester to announce a pregnancy and that looks like what Celine has done. I hope all goes well and we hear wonderful news in 6 more months.

I think she was relying on her faith to get her through when she announced this pregnancy. Maybe that is her way in letting the Lord know that she trusts Him.

Congratulations to the turkey baster! I`m so happy for it. It is going to be a "father" again! Of a double platinum album from the sound of it. I looked eagerly forward to seeing a list of the ticket prices! You sure she isn`t just having ann Curry`s twin cell phones implanted? Celine could sure stand to have a couple of those implanted, set to vibrate! Might get her parts in Christina Aquilera`s "Burlesque" movie. So spiritual!

These two are totally selfish and self-absorbed. Old, old, old. Like Sarah Jessica Parker having twins at 45. Old Old Old. The John Travolta's make me puke. You are gonna be 60 with a toddler? You selfish bastardss. I know some people that adopted two children at 50. He died of cancer at 64, she at 70. Her 18 year old daughter was getting married and she was ill with cancer. Thanks you two ego-driven fools.

Except God has nothing to do with this. In-vitro fertilization has everything to do with it. Don't you think it's a little bit selfish of a 70 year old man to be fathering children? Totally self-centered,especially when his wife is 30 years younger,and will in all probability end up raising these children alone. Yeah, THAT'S just a REAL blessing! These people are crazy AND selfish.The jury is still out on whether I think her husband is a pedophile or not,considering how old she was when he started "managing" her.if GOD wanted them to have a baby,then she would have gotten pregnant on her own.

Pretty much agree with Karen. But why is that so many of these celebrities end up have twins, as if it's the 'in' thing to do? Surely it's not by chance, but instead a calculated risk that will eventually give a huge boost to their coveted celebrity quotient...i.e. "Cha-Ching"!!

Spot on, Karen J. This in vitro is going against the laws of nature. If they were meant to reproduce naturally, they would've. If not they should've adopted if they wanted a baby so badly. Get off the "God meant for them to be parents!" nonsense because if he did, they'd have had a dozen kids by now.

CSI: God told them "no". I had a tumor and couldn't get pregnant. Tumor was removed and I had two children. Was God telling me 'no'? Should I have kept the tumor? You stupid bible-thumping moron. Do you take any medicine? Stop, God didn't give it to you to take. I only hope it was Insulin.

I hope that one day you try to have children and discover you can't. There is nothing more painful! My sister and I both have fertility issues and used medical means to have children. Who are you to judge us? We have good jobs and the ability to raise our children. Why should I not be allowed to have children??? At least my children will be open minded and raised to think before they speak. Something your mother should have taught you!
