'Ecstatic' Celine Dion Pregnant With Twins

Less than a year after suffering a tragic miscarriage, Celine Dion is pregnant again, this time with twins. The singer's husband, Rene Angelil, told PEOPLE they couldn't be happier.

"We're ecstatic," he said. "Celine is just hoping for a healthy pregnancy. She was hoping for one baby and the news that we are having two is a double blessing."

According to her publicist, the 42-year-old Dion is 14 weeks pregnant and plans to find out the sex of the babies next month. The five-time Grammy winner had been going through several rounds of in-vitro fertilization in recent months.

Dion's miscarriage last year came just months after she announced her pregnancy. She appeared on Oprah Winfrey's show in February to discuss the tragedy.

"It's life. You know? A lot of people go through this, but it's not being told because it's not in the newspaper," Dion said.

Dion and her husband, 68, who is also her manager, have one son, 9-year-old Rene Charles.

I underwent IVF three times...finally pregnant with twins...lost our son at 20 weeks...I'm 34 weeks with his twin sister...so yes things can go wrong later in the pregnancy...its heartbreaking when it does. Best Wishes to Celine and her family.

KarenJ is absolutely right. Using IVF, especially to artificially create a baby for an old man, is highly unethical. We live on a severely overpopulated planet, and the LAST thing we need is to make more babies. If it was a child they wanted, why didn't they adopt? This isn't about the baby, it's about shameful self-indulgence.

that's your oppinion and your entitled to it but they've wanted another child for a long time so hopefully this pregnancy sticks and the twins are born healthy and happy in the fall I have great respect and admiration for Celine have been a fan of hers since the beginning of her english speaking career 20 years ago and was deeply heartbroken for her & her family when she miscarried the baby last november but applauded when she came out and talked about it on Oprah last february
