Keith Olbermann Scrubs Bush From Nightly Sign-Off

For four years, Keith Olbermann has closed out his MSNBC show with a signature line, which normally went like this: "That's Countdown, for this, the 2,576th day since the previous president declared 'Mission Accomplished' in Iraq."
Well, you know the old saying: 2,576 is enough. The cable host quietly retired his daily mocking of President Bush's flight suit photo op on his May 20 show and has swapped it with a new line about the BP oil spill. On Monday, May 20, Olbermann ended his broadcast like so: "And that is Countdown for this, the 34th day since the Deep Water Horizon oil spill disaster began. I'm Keith Olbermann. Good night and good luck." Watch (via
Mediaite):
While not
exactly a direct dig at President Obama, whom he normally supports, the nightly reminder about the oil spill is still a surprise. With all that has happened both domestically and globally in recent years -- financial and housing crisis, earthquakes in Haiti -- why did it take the oil spill to diversify the 'Countdown' host's sign-off?
The MSNBC talker has not commented on the switch, or what inspired him to do so, but with no clear end in sight to the BP spill, get used to it.

Olbermann, what a lousy reporter. He is so sorry at journalism that i never even heard his send off line till today. LoL i bet 5 people watch his show, tops......what a loser

Olbermann is a worthless piece of human debri .
So you really think 5 people watch Keith? He must have picked up some new viewers! He is just a clown spewing the democratic line!!!
You would loose that bet
How do you know if he's lousy, if you've never even watched? Oh, that's right, You're Retarded. Never mind Baby Trig, I mean Danimal, I'm sure the Caribou Barbie doesn't let you watch the lamestream media.
More people watch Beck on a Tuesday than watch Olberman in a month!
You forgot to mention that those 5 people live in their parents basement. Olberman is the worst.
So MSNBC is finally reigning in this myopic nit-wit.
Too little too late. The ratings plummet will continue.
Hey, tbwest, while Olbermann is, basically, the left-wing version of Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck, I just wanted to know who taught you English? Its spelled D-E-B-R-I-S. I so badly want to give you the benefit of the doubt that it may have been a typo, but "i" and "s" are on opposite sides of the keyboard, so I'm guessing it wasn't and that perhaps you really are just another pinheaded twit who chooses to phonetically spell words.
Keith is a very good reporter. I love watching his sports reporting...his tongue in cheek approach is difficult at times to watch, but, he is accurate....
I pray for all reporters at this time.....crazy world that we live in.....
Yeah Danimal!!! You are so wrong!!! Just 5 viewers!!! What's wrong with you? Do you think there are really five people that are that hopelessly stupid? It is clearly just 4 viewers.
I just googled it. Apparently, Olberman's show is the #3 spot, behind O'Reilly factor and Nancy Grace. He beat Hannity, he beat Beck.
You've proved one thing correctly Dani, you're a typical Republi-CON crybaby. Expand your viewing and at least listen to the other opinions! Oh! that's right, you're.... a Republi-CON, there IS only one side. Too bad it has two faces! IDIOT!!
The 5 viewers:
Barack
Michelle
Rahm
Robert Gibbs
David Axelrod
I've tried to watch him, but his inaccuracy and biased reporting makes him nothing more than a left wing loony liberal. People that watch this clown are probably the same ones watching Jerry Springer re-runs all day.
I would also like to state that he is about as real of a reporter as that John Stewart boob.
The oil spill will turn out to be Obama's Katrina. Even Olberman and other demo clowns will turn against BO.
i agree!! this man is the king of twist, all he does is bring division among viewers! he cant hide his hate!-- clueless
What a pompous a*ss. Nobody has a clue what can be done to seal the oil leak, or it would have been done already. If you want to blame a president, blame the guy who was in office when the pipe was dug for not finding out how to plug it first. Blaming anybody but Halliburton and BP is stupid, and a waste of time. All that matters now for them to invent a way to stop it and a method to remove the oil from the water. Hopefully they won't go bankrupt and just walk away from the problem since the "going" is getting tougher and tougher.
...okay now. There's Larry O'Donnell, Danny Glover..., uh.. and uh..... Oh Shoot! Who are those other two??
