Charlotte Church and Longtime Boyfriend Split Up

Five years, two kids and one engagement later, singer Charlotte Church and her rugby star boyfriend, Gavin Henson, are calling it quits. The split comes less than two months after announcing they were finally getting married.

In an April OK! magazine spread, Church described how Henson borrowed his boss's helicopter and whisked her away to a seafront restaurant in her native Wales, where he proposed. "Absolutely joyous," she later described the moment.

A spokesman confirmed the split.

To help drown his sorrows, Henson has since jetted off to Spain for some quality time with friends. Church is reportedly at the couple's home.

Church and Henson have two children, Ruby, 2, and 16-month-old Dexter, and have been together since 2005. The Welsh star got her start in classical music before crossing over to pop music.

There such trash,having babies before marriage then breaking up. Never thought it would last anyway seeing it's taken all this time for him to even ask her to marry him. Poor children, they're the ones that always suffer. When I heard she was having her first child out of wedlock I was pretty disgusted but then to have another and still remain unmarried. Terrible example to all young girls out there that have looked up to her over the years!

And TORI, did you ever think they thought it best at the time to not get married. For some couples it works best to just stay unmarried. It's that person and the couples decision how they want their life. Not yours. The only judger in this world is Christ. And if he say's to them on judgement day, you will not enter because of your sexual relations before marriage, than that is what will happen. But as long as they've accepted Him, there should be no worries. Everyone screws up and makes mistakes...that's how we learn

It seems to me a lot of people do things backwards. They break up AFTER they have kids, with no marriage. I know how liberal and lenient things are today, see what happens when values aren't important?

Wow, Glenn, what planet have you been living on? Certainly not earth. Look at all the couples who have married, then had kids, and still split up. Values have nothing to do with it. It just depends on the people involved.

Well sndnczeet, last time i looked out the window, it was earth. Only planet i know of that can support life. Anyway, i believe values have a LOT to do with it. Sure, people split up for different reasons. But, i think your chances for staying together are far better with values than without. Long live the tea baggers, lol.

What a surprise! 17, rich & shacking up with the first boy she came across. Welsh laws or not, her parents should have stepped in. God graced this chick with the voice of an angel but he stuck it in the body of an idiot. Maybe now she'll grow the hell up, I just feel sorry for the kids.

To the poster who is so hung up on values, so you're saying a piece of paper certifying marriage and being married by a human being who is supposedly a man or woman of "god", gives one values? That's ridiculous. Good people have values, bad people do not. It doesn't take a marriage ceremony to instill values. You either have them or you don't. Apparently you're unaware of all the "married" folks who have kids and split.

You are absolutely right! Being married doesn't give one values. You have to have those values before you decide to marry; but if there are children involved, you ain't got 'em.

SO, the ones who CONDONE this couples choices think it IS better to shack up, have kids, and THEN split up RATHER THAN getting married, having kids and THEN spliting up?
I wish I could take a poll of TRUE CHRISTIANS who have ever divorced. It DOESNT happen. Because WHEN you are living for God and NOT yourself....things DONT hinder YOUR choices and cause the FRUSTRATION that marriages WITHOUT God have to endure. When YOU ARE SERVING GOD AND NOT YOURSELF...life IS easier because YOU ARE NOT focused on all your spouse does right OR wrong...but WHAT GOD is doing...which is ALWAYS AWESOME.
Yes, 50% of ALL marriages fail...but I would BET that THE 50% THAT DOES FAIL....ISNT serving God.

Brenda, Brenda, Brenda, if the end result is the same, that being that people who marry first and then have kids still split up, what difference does it make? And btw, you shouldn't be serving anyone unless you work in a restaurant. Get some self-esteem.
