'Lost' Star Jorge Garcia's Dog Hit and Killed by a Car

Tragedy struck Jorge Garcia as he prepared to leave the island of Oahu, Hawaii, his home for the past six years. His beloved Chihuahua Nunu was struck and killed by a car while crossing the street.
Garcia, who played Hurley on the hit show 'Lost,' updated his blog, '
Dispatches From the Island,' yesterday with the news. "It breaks my heart to tell you that yesterday as we were preparing to all go to the airport Nunu was struck by a car as she crossed the street," Garcia wrote. "She died in my arms."
The actor wrote frequently about his dog on his blog and would post photos of Nunu playing and chewing on toys regularly.
In his blog post about his dog's death, Garcia revealed where they'll bury Nunu, "We are burying her in the Pet Garden at Valley of the Temple in Kaneohe. Nunu hated the water so we couldn't bring ourselves to having her ashes scattered in the ocean. Three months from now you'll be able to find a bronze plaque inscribed with just her name there. If you'd like to leave a flower or a toy, I'm sure she'd love it."
Garcia is leaving Hawaii and returning to Los Angeles, his home before he landed the role of a lifetime on 'Lost.'

there were an estimated 6700 dogs killed yesterday in the U.S. What makes this dog newsworthy?????

Every dog is newsworthy. People should be more like dogs. They love you for who you are not what you have. They forgive n forget and get on with thier life. They are nonjudgemental and honest about thier feelings. Something I think you are lacking. Remember DOG spelled backwards is GOD
I'm so sad for the dog. But, WTF?? Was the dog not on a leash? How did he allow this to happen? People do something stupid and the animal pays the price. Typical.

I totally agree with you Debbie. I am in dog rescue and deal with stupid people like him on a daily basis. If the dog would have been on a leash, this would have never happened!!!! He will surely get a DNA put out on him.
This is why I don't let my cat outside in my neighborhood. I'm afraid she'll get hit by a car or get sick. I feel so bad for this guy. I know how it feels to lose a pet.

Sorry for the loss of your pet, Jorge Garcia. She most likely
will end up in a better place than some of these 'feckless'
people with mean spirits. Best luck to you in your new home.

So sorry Jorge. Loved you on LOST!

We just lost one of our pets this past week and it leaves a big void in your life. I am so sorry for his loss.

I can understand how this could happen. He was in the process of moving. People have so much to do and so much to think about when moving, and it is easy to get distracted. I'm sure that normally his dog was not allowed to run across the street. Accidents happen. I'm so sorry for his loss of this member of his family.

what a horror I offer my condolences for your loss.
Loosing a dog feels the exactly same as loosing a family member.
I lost my dog the other day and I am emotionally destroyed to the point of feeling physically sick and depressed.
Sad sad sad but I think that you 'll see him again so dont feel sad . If I thought that I would not see my pup again I would jump off a cliff cause he was that good and loyal a friend.

Poor dog, so sorry that it got hit by a car and died. That's what happens when people let their "PETS" that they love so much run loose with out a leash. I wouldn't get a dog until my yard is finced in, people drive crazy and I don't want my pet to end up as road kill.
