John Mayer Cancels Rest of European Tour Due to Unnamed Illness

John Mayer has canceled the final week of his European concert tour due to illness, according to a statement posted on his website earlier today.

Though Mayer was able to play a show earlier this week in Copenhagen, he had to cancel his second show in the city.

The statement on his website reads, "After a sold-out performance in Copenhagen, John Mayer was forced to cancel his second show there on 5/31 due to illness. Regrettably, the illness has caused his remaining European shows scheduled through this week to be canceled as well (Amsterdam, Madrid and Manchester)."

Though no information about Mayer's illness was released, the statement addressed his recovery, "Mayer is returning home to the States and a full recovery is expected under a doctor's supervision."

Mayer kicks off the U.S. leg of the tour on July 16 in Charlotte, NC.

Perhaps he's suffering a flare up of diarrhea of the mouth which has inflamed his esophagus thus preventing him from singing thereby causing him to cancel his European tour.

I don't know about lack of ticket sales, but there is some kind of international funk going around. My daughter is in Japan, and is sick as a dog. She's cutting her trip short by 2 weeks because of it. I hope that John gets well soon.

And, you put the likes of John Mayer on a pedestal? This is too funny. John Mayer is "currently" standing on the shoulders of the Real guitarists who preceded him. He is smoke. Julliard? Berkelee Conservatory? So what. That one hasn't an ounce of humility in him. In 10 years time, when the word "Mayer" is mentioned, people will be thinking of Oscar Mayer. Write it down.

I agree it's lack of ticket sales. He wouldn't let his people say that since he is narcissistic person. I'm sure not bothering to go to any of his concerts. Not going to buy any of his music ever again no matter what lies his pr people spit out.

I never Did buy any of his music, and never will. "Your Body Is a Wonderland" What is That? I care not if he graduated from Julliard, or from The Berklee Conservatory. His music is Sterile!

Stop the facade. Mayer concerts are not sold out.
Since the lie is floating around Mayer barely graduated from high school and barley got through 2 semesters of Berklee College of Music in Boston. Mayer is a dumb guy faking to be smart. He pays CAA to make him appear better than what he really is.
