'New World' Actress Arrested at White House

Actress Q'orianka Kilcher, best known for her role as Pocahontas in the 2005 film 'New World' opposite Colin Farrell, was arrested today at the White House, the
Associated Press reports.
U.S. Park Police say the 20-year-old actress tied herself to a fence while her mother, 41-year-old Saskia Kilcher, poured a black substance all over her.
Mother and daughter were both charged: Q'orianka will face disorderly conduct charges and Saskia is charged with defacing government property. Both are due in Washington D.C. Superior Court on June 9, the
LA Times reports.
When asked for a comment, Kilcher's agent Carlyne Grager confirmed the arrests and stated that the actress is "strong supporter of indigenous populations around the world." The pair told authorities they were protesting a visit from Alan Garcia, the president of Peru. Q'orianka's father is a Peruvian Indian.
This isn't the first time the actress has been vocal about her political beliefs. It was reported she recently visited Lima, the capital of Peru, to help champion an indigenous leader there and also supported Bolivian president Evo Morales at a political rally in April on climate change.

WoW, that joke would be soooo funny if it was forty years ago. Today, it is just lame and more than a little racist.
Her name means "Golden Eagle" in Quechua, a Native American language family spoken primarily in the Andes of South America.
Arrested just because her name you are an idiot....I can see a bigot
Just another nut case.

I can understand and appreciate her frustration with respect to this environmental catastrophe because countless citizens feel much like she does in terms of the failure of some responsible entity to resolve it. Dousing oneself with oil on the grounds of the White House, however, isn't the answer, and as you obviously observe, makes her look more like a nutcase than helps the cause. Perhaps the "slick" show would have been more appropo at the BP headquarters.
Davey Boy... did you read the article? They weren't protesting BP or the oil spill.
I never understand why entertainers (actors, singers, musicians, etc.) think their talent in an artistic field gives their opinions credibility in the world of politics. As far as I can see, entertainers in general lead messy lives that in many cases involve any or all of these: adultery, homosexuality, drug abuse, alcohol abuse, spousal abuse, child neglect, mental breakdowns, bankruptcy, and tax evasion. Not a one of them could sway my political opinions in the least, and chaining oneself to the White House fence borders on insanity.

Totally agree. Why do they think we care about their political positions. Smile, look pretty and act, that's what you're getting paid for, leave the politics to the brains in the country.
Maybe it's just me but everything you said sounds just like politicians too.
Yeah, that Ronald Reagan actor was, hey wait, he was pres. Oh well, so much for that idea....Al-
Talented entertainer?? WHO in the world is this person??? What is she blaming Obama for NOW?????? lol
What can you expect from self-absorbed little children? We pay these "actresses" and "actors" to act-up, and they do. Whatever her politics, they should be kept in her own country, practiced there, and applied there. No wonder our "illegals" feel they own this country, and outrank our legal citizens. They feel they have rights to pull outrageous stunts here, and she is simply an immature little example.

Clearly you are talking about you CR!!!!! LOL Jerk

THAT is exactly what I was thinking when I read the article. I figured it was someone protesting the major F ups going on down south. At least then people here might care. I'm sorry even though I do feel bad about some things going on in the rest of the world, it's kind of hard to be too outraged over it when we have some many problems here
well that is one way to get some attention for a possible movie or tv try out.

Another actress with no purpose in life. She should protest about the starving children in the world, that's a good cause to fight for. Opinions are like a**holes, everybody has one. Specially when politics are involved. If your going to draw attention upon yourself, at least do it for a good cause.

Well Bill that must be one of your many opinions
So exactly how does chaining ones self to a fence and having a black substance poured all over you actually make ANY KIND of statement, other than maybe you're an IDIOT!
