Gary Coleman's Ex-Wife Reveals Why She Removed Him From Life Support

Gary Coleman's ex-wife Shannon Price is speaking out about her decision to remove the actor from life support. TMZ has obtained a video interview Price shot the day after Coleman died and in it, she reveals why she took the actor off life support and how she didn't want him to end up like Muhammad Ali.

"The doctors told us that even if they had done surgery on him, he would've died. He would've bled to death during the surgery. Even if they did take a chunk out of his brain, he would not be the same. He'd basically be like Muhammad Ali ... I mean, Gary was gone," Price said to the camera.

She also expressed concern about the public's opinion about her decision, saying, "I don't want people to be so hard on me thinking I had to pull the plug too early. He wouldn't have made it anyway. His heart would've just given out. I don't want people to sit there and think I'm a bitch, and that I didn't care about him."

Price also discussed the rumors claiming she had something to do with the accident that took place at their home resulting in a brain hemorrhage. "A lot of people sit there and say, yeah, she pushed him. People are so cruel, they don't even know. I was upstairs, he was downstairs. How am I going to push him? Why would I want to hurt my husband, are you kidding?" Price concluded.

What money? Gary Coleman had no money left according to articles about him since his death.

you ppl just dont get it. they had a mutually abusive relationship. in that access hollyweird blowout w/lisa bloom, coleman said his wife gave him a head injury, and he's often hidden the abuse from the press. the guy is what, three feet tall? why isn't gloria allred investigating this?

Black man dead, white woman mourning? Dude, this is the biggest inside joke of all time. When was the last time you saw a white man die and black woman picking up the checks. Mainly cause a white man and woman is just smart enough to stand by and pick up the checks. granted she is kinda hot, but Shannon is into her eyeballs on this one. I have always hated the way Hollywood treated Coleman, he was a cool person, despite his issues, I wish he was a friend of mine. But since he had been stereotyped, I stopped paying attention to the rags picking on him. Despite her good looks, Shannon is a gravedigger and a crack addict speaking person in her defense of not being the one who made the final blow. And her brother is no better, like he could be a good character witness. Only thing he could witness is a twister in his trailer park.

Did Gary Coleman have life insurance on him?

I have read there were reports that she wasn't even married to him at the time of his death. If that was the case how was she allowed to make such decisions? Did he have a living will/DNR? Was she his healthcare surrogate. I don't understand how she was legally able to do so? That was a decision that should have been left up to his actual family. I get the impression that she really didn't care at all about him. Maybe that's just me.

She is so guilty, she knows she tried to kill Gary and couldn't so she let the doctors finish him off. Who is she or the doctors to say what could and could not happen? Is she God? Would she have liked him to pull the plug on her? She know she is guilty as hell and will burn here on earth for the rest of her life. She is a lying murderer!

My God people! There is not a tear on this psychotic woman,she has the guiltiest expression. They were in the same house together, he just happened to fall and bust his head. I hope the police investigates this lunatic, I have a very bad filling about this. Jewell I think you are right on!

jewell is on the right track folks. domestic violence goes both ways. even the d/a police in this case dont get it. she has guy-size over him. its totally possible that she injured him.
