'Gossip Girl' actor Chace Crawford was arrested just after midnight Friday in Plano, Texas, for possession of marijuana, police tell TMZ. As he was in possession of under two ounces, the offense has been deemed a misdemeanor. He was arrested in the parking lot of Ringo's Pub in Plano, which is located just north of Dallas. Sources told HollywoodLife.com that contrary to earlier reports claiming he was with a friend, Crawford was actually alone in his friend's car when police approached and found him rolling a joint. The source said, "he had a little under 2 ounces of marijuana in a plastic baggy sitting in clear view on the dashboard."
The source added that Crawford was "very polite and low key in a pair of jeans and flip flops and never identified himself," when he was arrested. According to reports, Crawford has posted bond and is out of jail.
According to state laws, those in possession of less than two ounces of marijuana can be incarcerated for a period of up to 180 days with a fine of $2,000.

texas has been guilty of a lot of bad enforcement tactics..in the last 15 years i have heard of some real foul tactics from there..i think some of the law officials need to be put behind bars down there.

as far as drugs...they need to be legalized for adults so americans treat each other like americans again...this "prohibition" that we live under needs to be lifted so .."we the people"..can live like americans again.

Okay for those of you saying, "It's only pot", I want to remind you of a few things. It's illegal in the state of Texas and he had a rather large amount in plain sight. Whether you agree with the law or not, this is the law. If you don't follow said law, there will be repercussions. Also, many don't realize the dangers of marijuana. Yes, many use it without problems and I've even had a close friend on medicinal marijuana for terminal cancer. However, I also had a relative have a very bad and very permanent reaction to pot and I recognize that it's a "gateway drug". Get real...laws exist and should be enforced.

OK, oldmom...Pot is not a "gateway" drug. I have been smoking it for 32 years. I do NOT do coke, meth, acid, heroin, or anything else that's going around out there. I do what God gave me...nothing that has been chemicalized. People who do the other things WANT to do them. If you're as "old" as your moniker claims, you've heard the phrase, "Man made alcohol, God made weed...who do you trust?"
Don't mess with Texas.

He still looks good as hell!! I mean he was just having fun--we were all young once and did naughty things. If you didn't you wasted your youth

Having barely enough for 2 joints is not a "rather large amount". And the law sucks. Plus the cops probably took it and smoked it themselves. Blaming marijuana as a gateway drug is just an excuse for extreme druggies....."don't blame me for not being able to say no to cocaine, blame the weed I smoked two weeks ago." Lame.

I dont own a t.v. so I have no clue who the kid with the unibrow is. I do however know weed. Yes, it should be legalized. Not only will it generate taxes, it will also mellow out this uptight nation and save money wasted on prosecuting people for simply smoking weed. Ask a cop how he feels about it. More than a few will tell you its a waste of time and resources arresting then prosecuting a person for simple possession.

most texas law officials are inbred..look at the bush family....if you got it smoke it..andstomp out prohibition...keep on keepin on until .."we the poeple"..get legalization for adults..
