'Dog Whisperer' Star's Wife Files for Divorce

After 16 years of marriage, it's over for 'Dog Whisperer' star Cesar Millan and his wife, Illusion, according to the star's website.

TMZ reports that Illusion Millan filed for divorce in Los Angeles court today citing irreconcilable differences. She is seeking custody of their two sons, Andrew and Calvin, and spousal support.

"We are sad to announce that after 16 years of marriage we have decided to file for divorce," reads the statement on Cesar's website. "The decision was made after much consideration and time. We remain caring friends, and are fully committed to the co-parenting of our two boys." The statement was posted earlier today.

Millan is most known for his reality TV series the 'Dog Whisperer' on the National Geographic Channel, which focuses on dog rehabilitation. He's worked with many celebrities over the years including Oprah Winfrey, Nicolas Cage, Will Smith, and Vin Diesel.

The couple started the Cesar and Illusion Millan Foundation in 2007 to help support the rescue and placement of abused and abandoned dogs.

Just damn. First Daddy died and now this. This incredible man has brought more goodness into more lives than anyone I can think of. I adore Cesar Milan and have enormous respect for the all-American success story that he is.

I know it says that she's the one who filed, but I think he probably got too full of Hollywood and shirked his husbandly duties to her, getting too self-important & self-absorbed to be devoted to her -- had Hollywood not happened, had he not had a show or spent so much time hobnobbing with the stars, he wouldn't have neglected his marriage & she wouldn't have filed for divorce.

Unconditional love IS pretty much ONLY in the pet world. Can't do it in real life especially if you are so controlling and need to be followed like a pack leader. Dogs NEED that discipline....wives don't. Good Luck to both of them. I'll be watching all of his future shows with my Golden Lab at my side.

I think it's a shame about Cesar and Illusion. And...I didn't know that Daddy died. He was such a beautiful pit bull and showed that not all pits are violent dogs. RIP Daddy and good luck to Junior.

Cesar Milan is all about himself, I work at a shelter in so ca and he treated everyone like sh*t when he was there and we were told by other shelters and others he has worked with the same thing, she probably got to see just about enough of him...

I hope that Cesar and his wife can work things out. Marriage take work, respect and love, and if they can't stay together I wish them both well. Thanks Cesar for all you do for the animals.
