Bee Party Members Protest Spelling Bee, Hard Words

Before Ohio teen Anamika Veeraman won the whole thing by spelling "stromuhr," a handful of eccentric-ly hilarious ~~protestors~~ protesters, some dressed in black and yellow bee costumes, picketed outside the National Spelling bee on Friday. Their message? Simplify the words we use the most. You know, instead of "through," let's go with "thru."

Sorry, English got this way because we change our pronunciation all the time and we'd have to update it constantly. Still, English makes sense once you understand it. Should we change history because people don't understand the facts?

This stupidity is far too invasive across American culture. Everything has to be in text-speak. How lazy are you when you can't speak and write your own native language? (Notice how many protest signs you see demanding English from immigrants, and how far too many of them contain misspelled words.) Learn lyrics to a stupid song, but by all means remain clueless to something as simple as subject-verb agreement. If this nonsense continues, how stupid (as opposed to ignorant) will we be as a nation in twenty years? Children should be taught the difference between chat among peers and the kind of English that will net them a decent job.

Wow. I watched last nite and well, let's just say, even the poor old spelling bee circuit is being run outta the Old, safe, Dodge I knew- the one that used to be totally repellent to American dumb down media "glam". What a let down. I knew last nites show was in BIGGGG trooble- when I saw that Erin 'baby doll' Andrews and hoity toity Chrissy poo Harrison (of Batchelor fame, not) showed up to do the mike "honors". Our media reeallly has lost its' collective mind(s). Can anyone say (or spell) PERPETUITOUS or SURREPTICIOUS?

One of our problems in America is young people not being able to spell even simple words. I must hand it to those students who study hard and can spell just about any word there is. You surely noticed there were no Obama type kids in the group. If you remember correctly, Obama entered a spelling BEE in Chicago among grade school students in 2008 before he was elected. You can find the video on YouTube where Obama was asked to spell a simple word since the teacher knew he was stupid. He was asked to spell the word "FARM". He perked his big ears and spoke out as if he was a collge graduate and said, "FARM E I E I O". That proves to me that he never attended any college and paid off Harvard to say he did.
