Sandra Bullock Speaks: Let's 'Go Back to Normal'

When Sandra Bullock stepped onto the stage at the MTV Movie Awards, she received a rapturous standing ovation from the crowd. In the wake of Jesse James' cheating scandal, the audience seemed to be echoing the support the Oscar winner has received from the public. Wearing a sequined black dress, Bullock addressed the crowd, saying she just wants to "go back to normal" and that she's "not going anywhere." Oh yeah, and she planted a kiss on Scarlett Johansson ... watch below!

During his introduction of Bullock, Bradley Cooper told the actress he hoped she knew "how loved you are ... You are once-in-a-generation talent."

Betty White, perhaps the second-most-beloved star of today, called Bullock "grace defined, and I adore you madly." "Sandy, you are a national treasure ... which I know a thing or two about since my ovaries were recently named historical monuments."

Upon arriving on stage, Bullock said, "I'd like to thank Betty for being such an extraordinary woman ... because of the person she is and the life she lives. I want your life."

While never directly addressing James or the scandal, Bullock certainly spoke of it. She made a statement with: "No matter what you might have seen or heard or read lately, I like what I'm doing and I'm not going anywhere. Speaking of what you might have seen or heard, I wanted to clarify some things: Number one, I'm not dead. Number two, everyone has cellulite, not just me."

Bullock continued, saying that the "paparazzi need more flattering lenses. And whoever established the high road and how high it should be should be fired."

Things then got funny, as she asked Johansson why she was on stage.

"This is so weird ... Scarlett, I really love you and all, but this is just uncomfortable. Why are you here? " Bullock asked

Scarlett, who is married to Bullock's 'The Proposal' co-star Ryan Reynolds, told her she hoped to be there if Bullock won best kiss, and then the two actresses shared a brief smooch themselves.

Bullock then got serious again, asking: "Can we please go back to normal, because therapy is expensive? Get back to making fun of me.

Bullock closed out her speech by saying that everyone's thoughts should be with those most affected by the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

lets not all forget she is an amazing women (1st) and an outstanding actress(2nd) and SHOULD remain in movies she is one of my favorite actress's, people should leave her private life aloe!!! I can't imagine what it is like to have your private life spread all over the news. Also in closing i live in florida and would like to thank her personally for the mention of the prayers for the gulf catastrophe. THANKS YOU MISS BULLOCK. you are amazing:)

The caption says Kristin Stewart left her frown at home. No she didn't. I don't think I've ever seen a celebrity look so miserable at what appeared to be a fun event.

I've never understood the appeal of Kristen or the lack of gratitude she seems to have. As for Sandra, she isn't the only person to have a cheating hsuband, and Ihaven't ever seen anything she's done that is particularly amazing, although I like her.

AAhhh! I noticed her too, more so just for those reasons. I thought it was just me! I found it all very strange, at various times within the relatively short air time she had, she looked and acted weird, mad, angry, lost, bothered, and just plain awkward. Also, unless I missed something, totally cold to the people she was with and who she's worked with. Not even a smirk at the people sitting in her row as she went by. Definitely didn't feel her gratitude or appreciation for the award either. She's an actress, surely she could have aced pretending to be happy, glad, and thankful? Those are really easy emotions to fake for everyone, even for those who don't professionally act.

I agree about Kristen. She never seems happy and the pouting thing is sooo old. What was with RPat. He had his feet up on the seat everytime the camera panned to him. I wish that Taylor Lauhtner had won the award. He seems like the only real person of the three of them.

I don't know what the big deal about this girl is. I read the Twilght books and watched the movies with my daughters, she is not that great of an actress. Besides that she is definately not a role model I want for eveen my now 17 year old.

not only violins, don't forget karma. jesse was a married mam with a wife who was 7 months preggers when she started seeing him. a homewrecker, no better then britney spears. she got what she deserved. funny quote "i never new what it ment for somone to have my back" meanwhile, the other women had his front! Just a typical male and guess what, sandra eats humble pie! If she was all that they would be having phone sex. never take the one you want for granted.

Apparently you nor anyone else really read this story - she doesn't want your pity, she basically said its time to move on. She didn't ask for pity or for this debacle to continue. You CHOSE to give her your pity. Media did so to satisfy public curiousity and the public helped by buying the tabloids and watching the news.

CGEE - why the hell does she need to thank the public for supporting her thru her tough times? Did you hold her hand or give her a shoulder to cry on? Did you help her move out? You sound like Tiger Woods mistress asking for an apology. Get over your arrogant self!
