Who: 2AM Club Video: 'Worry About You' Hails From: Los Angeles, Calif. For Fans Of: Maroon 5, Gym Class Heroes
Why They're About to Pop: 2AM Club's tunes weave together pop, hip-hop, funk and rock, and they're are all about having a good time. The six members of the group -- vocalist Marc Griffin, emcee Tyler Cordy, guitarist Matt Reagan, keyboardist Dave Dalton, drummer Ian O'Neill and bassist Matt "Sauce" Warshauer -- hail from Seattle, the Bay Area and the Northeast, but they all found each other in Los Angeles in 2007. The band soon hit the college scene, played gigs up and down the west coast and signed with RCA Records in 2008. Now, they're readying the summer release of their debut album, featuring the single 'Worry About You.'
"It's an album that you can pregame to [and] listen to on the way to the party, at the party and on the way home, and hopefully later with the person you're going home with," Cordy tells PopEater. "It's definitely night music, and conceptually deals a lot with the early 20s where we're breaking bonds, making new ones and beginning to delve into the rest of our lives."

Six Questions With 2AM Club's Tyler Cordy and Marc Griffin:
How did everyone in the group meet?
TC: I grew up in Seattle with Dave, our keyboard player -- making beats and songs and such -- then went to school in Santa Cruz, Calif., and I was best friends with a guy who was on the UCSC basketball team with Marc, so [I] linked up with him.
MG: I started out doing poetry slams in SF [San Francisco] when I was 13. Matt, our guitarist, got me to transfer my writing into song lyrics for his band when we were in high school. After meeting Tyler in college, the band came together in L.A.
Why did you decide to name your band 2AM Club?
MG: 2AM Club is a bar in my hometown. When we were looking for our name, we would find ourselves there getting drinks. My girlfriend at the time suggested it as our band name and it stuck. It's random, but it's always seemed perfect.
How would you describe your sound, and have any artists directly influenced it?
TC: I usually think of what we do as intelligent party music. We combine everything we love and everything we've been raised on: rock, hip-hop, soul, etc. I get influenced by people like Kanye, Fiona Apple, the people whose words stick to you.
MG: I think we have very classic roots in a lot of ways. That familiar melodic sound is something that comes from soul music, from old-school pop music. The instrumentation we use, the synth sounds, they all bring that modern feel, but at the end of the day we want our songs to carry on an acoustic guitar just as well.
What's the story behind your single, 'Worry About You'?
MG: There is a girl out there, somewhere in California right now, who I forever think of. She's in the back of my mind somewhere. I worry about her.
What's playing on your iPods currently?
TC: Wiz Khalifa, Robyn, Uffie, Chiddy Bang!
MG: I have to second that Wiz Khalifa.
You're heading out on the road with Chiddy Bang. How did that come about, and what most excites you about that tour and what's to come?
TC: We first met those guys through our homie Mike Posner in North Carolina. We got through the awkward "Hi, I play music, what's your name?" thing pretty quick, and since then have done a bunch of shows together. In a lot of ways they're in the same boat we are, hoping to take this new era of pop music in a fresh interesting direction. We've also had some surprises in the past -- Chiddy will hop onstage for a verse. Basically, we'll assure you general mayhem. Anything can happen.
MG: We're most excited about getting back to some of our home cities. We haven't played in the Bay Area since we got our deal, or in Seattle, either. We started in the west coast, [so] it's awesome to get to come back on such a good tour.
