Heidi Montag Files for Legal Separation From Spencer Pratt

'The Hills' star Heidi Montag went to court today to file papers for legal separation from her estranged husband, Spencer Pratt.

TMZ.com reports that Montag listed "irreconcilable differences" as the cause for the split. She has yet to file for divorce, however.

The reality-TV starlet maintains that June 8 is the date of their split, meaning that all of her earnings from now on will be her own.

According to TMZ, Heidi does not have a lawyer.

Montag moved out of the home she shared with Pratt over a week ago. She plans to spend the summer filming a new show with friend Jen Bunney, also of 'Hills' fame.

When the couple first broke up, Heidi told PEOPLE that "there are so many lies out there about me and I just needed space -- even away from my husband."

But not everyone is buying the separation -- even their friends. Co-star Audrina Patrdige thinks they aren't serious, saying, "I think it's a joke. I don't believe it. They're inseparable and in love."

This is all a stunt, she wants everyone to feel sorry for her, not buying it. She probably sneaks him in to the place she is staying at night, because she can't live without him. What these 2 won't do for publicity. Losers. LOL

I'm with you two. This is just another stunt designed expressly to get both her and Spencer yet more "ink". They're a couple of frauds -- slick, unapologetic and off-the-map aggressive. They'll do absolutely anything, including stage a "split up". I thought Jayne Mansfield, the fifties' blonde bombshell and Mariska Hargitay's mom, was a master at self-promotion, but Heidi and Spencer make Mansfield look like an amateur.

I still won't believe it. These two would do anything to stay in people's mouth's. I wouldn't put it past them if they got a legal divorce just for publicity and got re-married. And people are not helping this if all these blog sites just keep talking about it. Your just giving them exactly what they want.
