Mr. T: 'A-Team' Is 'Too Graphic,' 'Nothing Like' Original

Mr. T, 58-year-old star of television's original 'A-Team,' has seen this summer's blockbuster adaptation and isn't exactly pleased.
"It was too graphic for me. I've no doubt it will do big business at the box office but it's nothing like the show we turned out every week," the wrestler-actor, who portrayed BA "Bad Attitude" Baracus in the 1980s, tells the
Guardian.
"People die in the film and there's plenty of sex but when we did it, no one got hurt and it was all played for fun and family entertainment. These seem to be elements nobody is interested in anymore," Mr. T says.
Mixed martial arts fighter Quinton "Rampage" Jackson reprises Mr. T's role in the new film. The Guardian says the new 'A-Team' trades lighter fare for more adult themes, noting the original TV show refused to show anyone die onscreen, "which some consider one of its most amusingly silly traits."
Two members of the original cast, Dwight Schultz and Dirk Benedict, are said to have filmed cameos. "Mr. T apparently refused to make an appearance," the Guardian writes.

I'd watch 'A-team' and my dad would disagree and say it's the same exact plot every single time; they fix up some old vehicle and use it in advantage and always win. I remember the funniest scene 'A-team' or not may be 'Fall Guy' a helicopter hits a cliff, explodes and falls 1000ft. and the guys all walk out coughing. Ha!
LOL..if you think about it, it was the same episode with all that. But you had to love the cameraderie of all the actors..Murdock and Mr. T's character were hysterical..I want to see this movie just to see if they bicker the same lol
What a waste of good p*ssy, ...

Mr. T is the second or third person I know who has to say something about the current generation of movies, music, TV, and the rest that follows. Honestly, everything back then in the past was so much better than it is nowadays.

Funny you should mention "The Fall Guy" because some of my friends and I sat around a good chunk of last weekend watching Season 1! Look, we all know those shows were kinda corny in the fact there was not much graphic violence but it was kind of nice watching it again. We, too, laughed at one scene where a "bad guy" gets shot and his acting was so bad he practically just rolled over on the ground when he "died" (no blood, no fake bullet wounds, lol). Again, corny, yes, but a throw back to a day where the whole point of making TV shows and movies wasn't simply to "one up" the violence and nudity, etc. We had a great time...I will see the A-Team but I have a feeling I will be picturing the original cast the whole time! :)

You forgetting The A-Team was on Television you can not have profanity and extreme violence on TV Television is a close up media and the big screen is for all types of Shots close up long shots and This A-Team most likely will be rated R no one under 17 allowed the TV A-team was on during the Family hour nothing graphic could be shown
Mr. T is right.
Why did the ne movie use ranpage instead of the beter fit Kimbo?
Neither of them can win a fight.

Thank you! I couldn't agree more.
Never saw the "A-Team" on TV because it was considered a kiddie show... loved the movie though, with all it's double/triple/quadruple crosses and stand-out performances from all four leads.
Sounds like Mr. T is bemoaning the march of time.

He's not bemoaning the march of time. He's bemoaning the loss of morals or ethics, and I couldn't agree more.
It sounds like Mr.T is bitter. I am a little myself.
It seems they should use Mr. T in this movie. It started with him back in the day, why not now? I dont blame him for not doing a cameo my self. If they didnt want him in the movie, why help them out? I wouldnt have either.

Wow....an action movie, filled with gunshots and explosions, and people actually get KILLED? How bizarre!
I never was a fan of the A-Team growing up, but I admit to watching shows like Xena, Warrior Princess and Hercules. I suppose watching a campy TV show filled with lukewarm (at-best) acting and never-ending action scenes full of knives and swords where you never see so much as a drop of blood spilt is one thing, but that doesn't translate well to the big screen. People go to see these films to suspend disbelief and watch gratuitous scenes of explosions and mayhem, but no one takes it seriously. Relax, folks.

He must be into something else that's taking up his time and making him good money. I heard he may have joined in with Michael Vick and raising dogs to fight which does pay good nowadays.
