Mr. T: 'A-Team' Is 'Too Graphic,' 'Nothing Like' Original

Mr. T, 58-year-old star of television's original 'A-Team,' has seen this summer's blockbuster adaptation and isn't exactly pleased.
"It was too graphic for me. I've no doubt it will do big business at the box office but it's nothing like the show we turned out every week," the wrestler-actor, who portrayed BA "Bad Attitude" Baracus in the 1980s, tells the
Guardian.
"People die in the film and there's plenty of sex but when we did it, no one got hurt and it was all played for fun and family entertainment. These seem to be elements nobody is interested in anymore," Mr. T says.
Mixed martial arts fighter Quinton "Rampage" Jackson reprises Mr. T's role in the new film. The Guardian says the new 'A-Team' trades lighter fare for more adult themes, noting the original TV show refused to show anyone die onscreen, "which some consider one of its most amusingly silly traits."
Two members of the original cast, Dwight Schultz and Dirk Benedict, are said to have filmed cameos. "Mr. T apparently refused to make an appearance," the Guardian writes.

Maybe Mr. T should have actually gone an seen the movie. THere isn't one sex scene, just a brief flash back of some romping under the sheets that last all of 3 seconds, and a long kiss at the end. And whatever, we are desensitized because of what's being put out there, but the blowing up of stuff on a weekly basis back in the early to mid 80's was also considered violence wether someone was shown being killed or not. Love-ya T. just not for your outlook on a movie you didn't go see.

The function of remakes is to make people forget the past. This is why we call it, "The United States Of Amnesia." Kill your television. Ignore Hollywood.

I say good for you MR.T, most of these new movies are crap. I don't understand why they didn't cast Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp, Tom Cruise and Nick Cage. Then they could have named it "The Gay Team."

Mr.T's the Man and George Peppard would agree!!!

you hit the nail on the head mr.t!
seems like every modern remake is just an excuse to throw 2 hours of graphic sex and violence and foul language at the audience.
that way both the writing and the acting can suck, but nobody cares.

Good for Mr. T.
Most of us can enjoy entertainment without unnecessary graphic violence and sex--There is a whole lot more to life and entertainment.

The only remake of an old TV show that was remotely entertaining was Starsky and Hutch.....the rest have been total s**t!

THANK YOU Mr T for standing up against all the garbage that goes into films. It is a shame that there are enough people that enjoy seeing violence and filth to make money for money for movies that are full of that. But what is it saying about our society and the way our young people's minds are being formed... They are being desensitized to things that should shock them, making them lose empathy in the real world. It's all very sad for our society............................................................................................................................................................................................................BRAVO, you hit right on the nail, and I am proud to say I still get SHOCK of some things out there and I thank God for that, and to the idiot that say to climb down from your ivory tower because this is the real world, I say to you that it is your warp and twisted world not mine.Have a good day!

I have no problem with the new movie being graphic, but I also have no problem with Mr. T being true to his convictions. Way to stand up for what you believe Mr. T! Can't wait to see the new A Team!

I agree with Mr T The A team show will not worth watching......Mr T made the show

Mr. T is right. I mean, he can be one bad dude when he needs to, but what he's saying here is that they're essentially killing the essence of the show. And who knows the show better than one of the main stars? When will they realize that a movie WITHOUT all the rotten cliches he mentioned could actually be good?

That's fine Mr.t, now go back to trying to be the new George Forman OK?
If you haven't seen his cooking infomercials yet, you haven't lived!!

We have no morals anymore, sex & violence - violence & sex, thats all that you see anymore. I quit going to the movies a long time ago. We are the largest spending group in the country, yes, THE BABY BOOMERS, but nothing is done anymore w/ what we care for or like. Its mindless music, and thats saying it very mildly & trashy movies. I for one will not waste my money on that garbage.
