Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox 'Daydream' About 'Friends' Film
Courteney Cox says that while a 'Friends' movie may never materialize, the cast has certainly thought about it --
Jennifer Aniston in particular, who has a "great idea ... that would reunite the members of the long-running NBC sitcom," the
LA Times reports.
"A lot of things would have to break just right for it to work. But we've daydreamed about it," Cox says, noting that series creators Marta Kauffman and David Crane would have to be involved. Her final verdict? "I don't think it's going to happen."
She told the Times she was jealous of the 'Sex and the City' gals' extravagant style of filming. "I wish we could do that with 'Friends.' The thing is, the characters from 'Sex and the City' hopped all over Manhattan. On 'Friends,' we were always stuck in the apartment and that coffeehouse."
The LA Times took the 'Friends'-centric discussion as an opportunity to reflect on the show, "a topic Cox takes to with hearty enthusiasm," the paper writes.
Apparently, the ladies of 'Friends' -- Cox, Aniston, and Lisa Kudrow -- ate lunch together every day while filming the series, which ran for 10 years, always enjoying a Cobb salad prepared by Aniston. "Jennifer doctored [it] up with turkey bacon and garbanzo beans and I don't know what. She just has a way with food, which really helps. Because if you're going to eat the same salad every day for 10 years, it'd better be a good salad, right?" Cox, 45, said.
Though Cox is known more for her shimmery role in 'Cougar Town' these days, she had a blast playing Fat Monica. "God, playing Fat Monica was so freeing! I remember being in [Fat Monica] makeup one time waiting for the other cast members to come out, and [director] Kevin Bright put on 'Shake Your Groove Thing' and I just grabbed a doughnut and started dancing like crazy in front of the audience," she said. "I could do anything because I was hidden under all that prosthetic makeup."
And she still has a soft spot for Monica's marriage proposal to Chandler. "There's like 10,000 candles lit in the apartment and she gets down on one knee and starts sobbing. 'There's a reason why girls don't do this!' That was a big scene to me, playing the heavy emotion of that."

It's been years since the show went off, a 2 hour movie would be nice and funny to see what the cast and their kids are doing.

OH GOD PLEASE NOOOOOOOOOOO
Friends was a fun show,"back in the day" And I guess a movie would be ok, IF, they stay their ages they are now. If they try to act and dress the age of 25 again, not so good. Never works well. Just a thought.

good one!
the whole cast is in need of a job (not the money) since none of them has done more than some lame movie or tv show post-friends.
This is to mbrul Please stop using the word "lame" as an insult word. Many disabled people find it very offensive when you do that.
Are you kidding? I would DEARLY LOVE to see a "Friends" Movie - I miss that show so much! I own the total series and still watch it from time to time. Just popping in the DVD and watching an episode will get me laughing and feeling happy. It was a great show and I know there are a gazillion fans out there who feel the same way as I do. PLEASE do a movie!!!! Oh PLEASE!!!!

Sue, I totally agree with you!!!!!!!! I watch the reruns everyday, twice a day....and enjoy it as much as when I first saw the episodes. My husband is hooked now also! I miss them as if they were my personal FRIENDS!!!!!!!!! A movie would be great!!!!!!!!!!!
I totally agree with you. Friends is my favorite show of all time & I too, own a bunch of the seasons on DVD. Nothing good to watch on TV? find repeats of Friends on TBS or pop a Friends DVD in. No matter how many times i've seen the episodes, i still crack up like its the first time i'm watching.
Well of course they want to do it, most of their careers are practically non existent now, Cox seems to be fairing the best with Cougar Town, Aniston had one good movie, Marley and Me and she wasn't even the star of that film.

Jennifer Aniston had ONE good movie? Have you been sleeping all these years?
Jennifer Aniston has had a BUNCH of good movies! She's a very talented actress, probably the most known 'friend'.
I know that "Friends" fans would line up to purchase tickets to see them in a film version of the show. There is no way that as fans we would think anything negative about any of these wonderful actors and actresses if they n=made this movie. On the contrary it would maybe give us closure, you know may Monica and Chandler could decide that they would really be alot happier if they moved back to the old apartment. That way they could be closer to the people that they care about. maybe we could finally see Ross and Rachel have a real wedding after living together all these years while raising Emma. Phoebe and Mike could have some kids and Joey a serious relationship. I think we would all love to see an updated version of the way they are now, I don't think that their real fans want any kind of them pretending to be who they were years ago. Please, Please think about it, it would make so many people happy.

I would LOVE to spend a couple of hours catching up with MY Friends!!!!

I would absolutely LOVE to see a 'Friends' reunion movie. But...I'd want it to be a storyline where, in the opposite of their finale...they all found themselves living back in Manhattan again. This way the at the conclusion of the movie you're not sad they're going their separate ways but instead think of them as all being in each other's lives again. Of course not with them all hanging out in Central Perk everyday but at least seeing each other all the time. It would be funny if Joey, instead of living with Monica & Chandler because he has to....instead, he's a super successful actor who buys a huge NY duplex or brownstone and sells half of it to Monica & Chandler, or lets them just live there. Wow...can tell I'm home with a cold today...really getting bored.

ha! well hope you're feeling better today!
YES YES YES!!! I would see a Friends movie over and over. They are my friends! I have the whole series on DVD and watch all the time! Even my friends from work love Friends and watch. I vote a very big YES for a Friends movie!

No I haven't been sleeping, I will give her two good movies, Marley and Me and The Break up with Vince Vaughn, which good movies were you talking about? I love Jen, but sadly her movies aren't all that good, but would love to see a movie.

You left out "He's Just Not That Into You", "The Bounty Hunter", and "Love Happens." All good movies. All of her movies that she did during and after Friends were good.
"Friends with Money" and all the others, some better than others. You must really live under a rock. The one I'm most curious about is Matt LeBlanc. After the tv show "Joey" he pretty much vanished. Anybody know more?
