Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox 'Daydream' About 'Friends' Film
Courteney Cox says that while a 'Friends' movie may never materialize, the cast has certainly thought about it --
Jennifer Aniston in particular, who has a "great idea ... that would reunite the members of the long-running NBC sitcom," the
LA Times reports.
"A lot of things would have to break just right for it to work. But we've daydreamed about it," Cox says, noting that series creators Marta Kauffman and David Crane would have to be involved. Her final verdict? "I don't think it's going to happen."
She told the Times she was jealous of the 'Sex and the City' gals' extravagant style of filming. "I wish we could do that with 'Friends.' The thing is, the characters from 'Sex and the City' hopped all over Manhattan. On 'Friends,' we were always stuck in the apartment and that coffeehouse."
The LA Times took the 'Friends'-centric discussion as an opportunity to reflect on the show, "a topic Cox takes to with hearty enthusiasm," the paper writes.
Apparently, the ladies of 'Friends' -- Cox, Aniston, and Lisa Kudrow -- ate lunch together every day while filming the series, which ran for 10 years, always enjoying a Cobb salad prepared by Aniston. "Jennifer doctored [it] up with turkey bacon and garbanzo beans and I don't know what. She just has a way with food, which really helps. Because if you're going to eat the same salad every day for 10 years, it'd better be a good salad, right?" Cox, 45, said.
Though Cox is known more for her shimmery role in 'Cougar Town' these days, she had a blast playing Fat Monica. "God, playing Fat Monica was so freeing! I remember being in [Fat Monica] makeup one time waiting for the other cast members to come out, and [director] Kevin Bright put on 'Shake Your Groove Thing' and I just grabbed a doughnut and started dancing like crazy in front of the audience," she said. "I could do anything because I was hidden under all that prosthetic makeup."
And she still has a soft spot for Monica's marriage proposal to Chandler. "There's like 10,000 candles lit in the apartment and she gets down on one knee and starts sobbing. 'There's a reason why girls don't do this!' That was a big scene to me, playing the heavy emotion of that."

I think a “Friends” movie would be a HUGE success!!!!! Most of the loyal viewing audience is still to this day rerun watchers. I know just as many men who watch “Friends” as women. For 10 years most consider Chandler, Monica, Ross, Rachael, Phoebe and Joey their own friends. Not to mention regular guest actors such as Paul Rudd who played Mike, Janice played by Maggie Wheeler, Gunther played by James Michael Tyler, Eliot Gould and Christina Pickles who played Mr. and Mrs. Geller, Morgan Fairchild as Chandler’s Mother, Kathleen Turner as Chandler’s Dad, Marlo Thomas as Rachael’s mother and Giovanni Ribisi who played Phoebe’s brother Frank Jr. It would have to be a movie where everyone from the writers to the guest actors has to be involved. The Sex and the City movie did very well because they brought everyone back and picked up a few years later. I would love to see where everyone is now. Joey finding his soul mate and possibly the movie could surround him getting married or finally Ross and Rachael tying the knot for good. I pray that this happens one day. I know the actors have continued to be in each others lives since the show ended so I think they wouldn’t have a problem with it. Let’s hope this sparks something with the other powers that be.

They need to make a better series with hotter people called "F*CKERS"

A Friends TV movie-Fine
A theatrical release-WHY??
Just to film everything with state of the art equipment-(Maybe even 3D)?
You do that and you end up forgetting what "Friends" was about
&
End up with another SATC2!
(Or maybe they just want to 'open up' Central Perk)

I totally agree with you. I think the way the series ended was great...absolutely no need to revisit the characters six years later.
I would rather watch a reunion of Saved By The Bell! Friends stinks.

I just returned from seeing Sex In The City 2 and was thinking how wonderful it would be to see all of our Friends. Its been too long since we have seen them all together. I need my Friends fix,so this is my vote for a reuion show or movie.

I would love to see a friends movie! I'm only 17 and FRIENDS is one of my favorite shows. I love the cast, Jennifer Aniston is my role model. I watch the show everyday and I never get tired of it. It would be nice to see how Monica and Chandler like being out of the city. Also, how Phoebe and Mike are handling marriage and hopefully kids. I'm a huge fan, and would love to see FRIENDS on the big screen.
