Susan Boyle is taking the next big step in her career. The 'Britain's Got Talent' singing sensation will likely perform for Pope Benedict XVI on his tour of Britain later this year, the Roman Catholic Church in Scotland told the Associated Press. A spokesman said Thursday that negotiations are still taking place, but Boyle is expected to sing at an open-air papal Mass in Glasgow's Bellahouston Park on Sept. 16.Boyle became a sensation early last year when she performed on the TV show 'Britain's Got Talent' and shocked audiences with a beautiful rendition of 'I Dreamed a Dream.' Once the video clip hit YouTube, she sailed through to the finals. (Watch clips of her on the show.)
To date, her audition video has been viewed on YouTube over 347 million times. Despite the sustained media interest, she later finished in second place in the finale of the show -- behind dance troupe Diversity.
Her first album, 'I Dreamed a Dream,' was released in November 2009 and is Amazon's best-selling album in pre-sales. In only six weeks of sales, it became the biggest selling album in the world for 2009, selling 8.3 million copies.

Susan you are wonderful, and you showed to women all over the world, that they dont have to be divas to make it in television you are so natural, like an angel, with that inocent smile, God Blees.

It's nice to know that "servants of God" are given to such "high living" and social standing. I'm not saying susan boyle is particularly great in the context of all of celebrity, but I do not understand why a person professing Almighty God as the head of a church; even a global church should fornicate with the secular world. Its one thing for him to enjoy different musical artists, its another thing for him to profit from his status of religious leader.

WHAT ?????
Obviously the secular world has something the pope wants.
I would love to see Ms. Boyle's face when she learns "his holiness" expects to pick her selections.
Susan, you are an inspiration! So glad you are going to sing for the Pope! I wish you everything good. I love your new album!

It must be a huge thrill to be performing for the worlds most infamous hypocrite. Not only was he a nazi, he's a hate-mongering bigot who would see people die in the name of Jesus rather than consider the wisdom of contraception diversity and equality. It seems his Hitler Youth roots have borne fruits...and not just the ones he's hidden from prosecution.

I must say i agree with Craig. Maybe she can persuade him to give up some of the child molesters he's been protecting.
Unfortunately organized religions overall are nothing but businesses preying on the weakness of those who are willing to believe in them. They all have flaws just like all humans.
Best to beleive in yourself!
