Jamie Kennedy Took Nudity Seriously in 'Finding Bliss'

Moviegoers are seeing a whole lot of Jamie Kennedy in the independent film 'Finding Bliss' -- including some very surprising full frontal nudity.

Playing a porn star with acting ambitions, Kennedy clearly took his method acting to the next level. Director Julie Davis says the former 'Ghost Whisperer' star went from reluctant to show skin in the beginning to insisting on a scene which doesn't leave anything to the imagination.

"In the beginning when we first mentioned nudity, he was a bit unsure," Davis tells PopEater. "So he made a complete change. He's a brave actor. He'll do anything."

And there might be other motives for Kennedy: "I think he wants people to see how well-endowed he is," Davis says.

The director says the scene came toward the end of the film's shoot, when Kennedy was feeling "very comfortable." One playful scene with Leelee Sobieski was supposed to show the world a peak at Kennedy's exposed front-side, but it didn't work out effectively -- chalk it up to a bad camera angle.

"For some reason, the way we shot it, you couldn't really see it," says Davis of Kennedy's normally hidden ... member. "After that Jamie said, 'You know, I'm kind of bummed you didn't get to see it. Can we do it somewhere else in the movie?' "

A surprised Davis agreed and a spur-of-the-moment solo nude scene was inserted. "We basically did it as a surprise to the entire cast and crew," Davis says. "No one knew we were doing it except for me and Jamie."

While viewers get a shocking (did I just see that?) glimpse, much of the on-camera freestyle joking had to be trimmed, if you will, to keep the film from an NC-17 rating. "The scene was brilliantly funny, but had to be cut for the rating," Davis says.

It calls to mind the end of 'Boogie Nights,' when Mark Wahlberg famously gave a glimpse of why his onscreen character Dirk Diggler was such a popular porn entertainer. But that movie relied on some really key special effects help.

Kennedy, it should be pointed out, ensured his au naturel was all natural.

Sandy the human body is not filth. We all have one, or seen one.
I dont see any need to see any type of nudity on tv either, but it dont upset me if I do see anything.
Its the point that makes me wonder some times. If theres no point in showing a nude body, man or woman, I dont think it should be shown. But thats hollywood, anything to try to get us to the movies.
Personally, I do not want to see anyones 'parts.' But, I have to admit, its good that they in holly wood, are starting to show off the men now. They have been using woman since the beginning of time.

I will not be seeing this garbage. I am very tired of seeing these exhibitionists like Kennedy wanting to show their genitals. These film makers are pathetic to think that I will pay my money to continue to have only male frontal nudity in films. Until they start showing both female and male frontal nudity equally, I will not be seeing their double standard crap. I hope this film fails big time !!!
