Jodie Foster Accused of Battery by 17-Year-Old Boy

Academy Award-winning actress Jodie Foster has been accused of battery by a 17-year-old boy after an incident in the parking lot of a Los Angeles-area shopping mall,
according to RadarOnline.com. However, the actress's rep
tells PEOPLE that the accusations are a "fabrication."
The incident occurred on May 29 at the Grove shopping complex. According to the police report, the boy spotted Foster in the valet parking area and approached her to take a picture. The police report was filed after the incident and officers did not report to the scene.
Describing the incident to
Radar, the boy's father said, "Jodie pushed and shoved him leaving scratches and bruises on his arm ... She came after him, poked him in the chest and said, 'Do you even have a mother you slime ball?' He didn't mouth back at all and was scared of her."
However, the actress's rep tells another story. "This guy was most definitely a professional paparazzo," says the rep. "He had a large camera bag and 1000mm telephoto lens. He tailed Jodie and followed her all the way from the movie theater to the valet."
"He crowded her and her two young children and took photos of them the whole time," adds the rep, noting that the actress approached the boy and asked him to stop.
Foster, who is notoriously protective of her private life, was at the Grove seeing a movie with her two sons, Charles, 11, and Christopher, 8. The victim's father believes the actress's reaction was an attempt to protect her sons, but believes she overreacted. "My wife is furious that while Jodie was trying to protect her children, she wasn't there to protect her son," he told Radar.
"At one point Jodie's son even came over to my son and apologized. Her kids were really embarrassed," he added.
The boy was apparently a fan of the 'Panic Room' star; however, he isn't feeling the love anymore. "This left a really bad impression on my son about her. He used to be a big fan and now he has a bad taste in his mouth. He's a good kid; kind of small for his age. There was no threat to Jodie."

Well if you're the elite of Hollywood you get away with that stuff. Joe the plumbers, not so much.

isnt she gay

What does her sexual orientation have to do with this altercation? NOTHING!!!!!!
Bill this is 2010. She is simply a mom protecting her kids from crazies. Anyone would do the same if provoked. Being gay has NOTHING to do with it.
This seems to be another way to extort money from someone who has money to someone who wants money that is NOT his or hers.
It is a shame at how low folks will stoop to get enough money to buy a vehicle/house, etc. Jodie had a reason to be upset. It is a clear invasion of privacy. I hope Jodie counter sues if he sues her. Pics should only be taken if the person agrees for them to take a photo. Some religions believe that you are taking away part of their spiritual enery/chi when taking a photo. Go ask a Rabbi !!!!

What 17 year old needs his parents to protect him. It seems ok that slimeballs with a camera can do anything, but if a celebrity says anything they get in trouble. What a shame...

good for you Jodie! damn kid. he probably learned to be an arse, like his father. stop, means STOP. be respectful. i grew up in LA (and went to school with a lot of big name celebs) and if you ask a celeb to take a pic....most of them will be happy to take the photo. it's all about deliverance and respect. this young adult was obviously rude and obnoxious. find another profession...or, you'll most likely find yourself in many more situations (as this one) ... but when you turn 18, you won't have mommy and daddy to defend & speak your actions. ridiculous.

What the hell.....if I were making millions per year, and all I had to do was put up with a bunch of idiots with a camera.....me thinks I can live with it. If my teenage kids had objections, they could move the hell out and work at Mcdonalds.

I believe the boy and his father, and I will tell you why. Foster has a cruel streak. I read an interview by her a couple of years ago, and she said that if she saw an injured squirrel on the sidewalk, she would kick it. She also said she hates any kind of weakness in people or animals. I find her deplorable, and until I read that article, I had always liked her. I fully believe that she did, indeed, pushed and shoved him. Anyone who says they would do to a small, injured squirrel what she said she would do is capable of attacking a 17-year-old in a fit of anger.

I beg to differ about the papparazzi being blamed for Diana's death. The limo driver....you know...the one that was drunk, and driving like a lunatic to run from the cameras....HE was the one that caused the accident.

He was driving like a lunatic to run from the CAMERA"S........
If you had a brain, you would know that the pap were chasing Diana's limo, that was the reason the driver was speeding...drunk or not......The pap are the prime cause of the accident
jodie foster is a loser

Bottom line is this - if the "kid" was close enough to be smacked by her then he was too close.
He's a papparazo in training and if he want's to play with the big boys he better learn the rules. Big lens, big distance, same shot as if you were up close.
Papparazi should have no rights since it is their job to deny others their own rights.

Paparazzi need to grow up. If you're hell-bent on spoiling the quality of people's lives, don't be surprised if you encounter an occasional shove, smack, punch, or worse. I give celebrities like Foster a helluva lot of credit, because if I were to encounter such obnoxious invasions from indifferent trash on a regular basis, I'm certain they wouldn't get away with anything as generous as a shove or a scratch....

Photogs should be only those employed full time by the mags, and licensed. They should be required to keep the distance those huge lenses are capable of. Cover the shows and programs of these stars and leave their private lives private.

Jodie should have kicked the little punk in his BALLS and told him and his father to more respectful of other people's privacy.

There should be a law that the G-D paporazzi should only be allowed to take pictures at formal events where the stars attend.....The stars provate life should be allowed to be private ....PERIOD.... They are a ban on all life

While I don't support violence, I just want to ask everyone the question. If you were hounded by this idiots every time you leave your home, wouldn't you finally just take so much and snap? Even though I know these stars are in the spotlight, I truely believe they should be left alone. If these paparazzi's want to take their pictures do it from a distance. Everyone deserves some peace and quiet once in a while. Put yourself in their shoes will ya!
