Joe Jackson Blames Katherine Jackson for Michael's Death

In an interview with News of the World, Joe Jackson blames his estranged wife Katherine for the death of their son, Michael Jackson.

Joe explained that he told Katherine that Michael was "looking kinda funny and frail" and wanted her to help him, but she refused.

"She didn't want to do that because she was afraid she was invading his privacy," he claims.

He added that, after the King of Pop's tragic death, he admonished Katherine. "I said this would have never happened if you had went and been with him."

Meanwhile, Katherine's lawyers are firing back.

"The world knows that Mrs. Jackson has always been a loving mother and grandmother, and that she and Michael had a very special relationship," her lawyer, Adam Streisand, tells TMZ, adding, "The world also knows who Joe Jackson is and he seems bent on never letting us forget."

Howard Weitzman, a lawyer for the Jackson estate, also defended Michael's mother. "The inference by Joe Jackson that Mrs. Jackson was in any way responsible for Michael's death is preposterous. Katherine Jackson was a supportive and loving mother throughout Michael's life. His love and respect for her is reflected in his estate plan." (Joe Jackson was left out of his son's will.)

Katherine Jackson,Don't believe a word he says;Dad is just bitter because Michael left him out of the will;Michael was a 50 year old man capable of letting anyone know if he felt he needed help;sometimes when you intervene in a man's life;he feels pressured and will alienate himself even more.The Jackson family did all they could to help him,It was his auntourage of bodyguards who talked him into staying away from the family!!!!the KILLER is Dr.Conrad Murray who overdosed Michael on a drug that NEVER should have been given to him..AT ALL......PERIOD...

Isn't KAtherrine the one that let Joe beat the kids and did nothing to stop him? They are both horrbile, greedy, guilty people. I just had breakfast right around the cornewr from her house and thought about MJ's kids, even though we all know he is not their biological father... all lies from that clan.

Joe Jackson is one a poor excuse for a father. What good does saying something like that do. It won't turn back the clock. It changes nothing. And with all due respect, Michael was responsible for Michael. Personal accountablity has to be factored into this. Michael wasn't a child. He was a 50 year old man. He functioned as a man, he made a living as a man and he raised a family as a man. Why then is it his mommys responsibility to make sure he took care of himself physically. Joe Jackson.. shame on you. You are one ugly man, and I don't mean physically.. I mean moraly and emotionally

If he was so concerned about his son, why didn't HE do something about it. To blame his wife is not only irresponsible, it is also reprehensible. Personally I think their whole family is a bunch of whack jobs! I was not surprised when Michael died last year. He was never of sound mind. And if you disagree--just look at the way he lived. A sane person doesn't do the things he did.

dverzic- Reputed Joseph sought his SON. Security kept at bay. Certain if afforded opportunity, would have intervened. Media took Michael's statement re treatment as child OUT of context. Always do. Live to do it. They are greatly responsible for tragedy.

stankohagen- Didn't have to "support" anyone but his children. No matter what, Jacksons are family, which entitles them to support one another. That is Jackson business, not the world. Family in mourning. One year anniversary. Pain of loss real culprit. Along with doctor. Not Joseph. Quack ENABLED KNOWN addiction. Family intervened, sadly to no avail. King would have helped himself, if able. Definition of addiction, beyond control. Quack should have aided, versus following money trail. Death to Murray, and every "doctor" of his kind. Prayers for health, long life, and healing for every Jackson. Long live King's legacy!!! Perhaps Joseph meant since Michael had affinity for Mom, chance she could have reached him. Quite plausible indeed.

I sure wouldn't want you to be grandfather to any children you'll probably hurt them the way you hurt your kids too. Leave Katheryn alone, she is doing the best that she can now for Michael's children, if she can help them at all now. i think that micheal is still alive . i beleave these are stunts so that we don't forget him .there are to any videos that prove he alive the old man at his funeral the way he hugs the lady.the same way he hugs.the old man at his memoril the same pants that he waer on his home videos.plus look at his wrist its the same as his. look at some of his vidoes .....

I cant believe anyone would ever listen to J.J anyways he beat humilated and made Michael so screwed up that he finally ended up dying from the pain he felt every time he even thought about his so called DAD.Now Kethryn made M.J the person who the world loved and wanted to hear for years and If anyone had any brains they would'nt even Let him utter M.J's name.
