Chris Klein Arrested in Los Angeles for DUI

'American Pie' actor Chris Klein was arrested early Wednesday on suspicion of driving under the influence, TMZ is reporting. Police say Klein was pulled over on a freeway in Los Angeles at 3:13 AM and was arrested after failing a field sobriety test.

California Highway Patrol Officer Patrick Kimball told L.A. Now that Klein's 1999 Chevrolet Blazer was weaving between three lanes of traffic on the 101 Freeway. Klein, 31, reportedly had a blood-alcohol level at over .20, far exceeding the legal limit in California of .08.

He was booked for driving under the influence of alcohol and released without bail, Kimball said.

In early 2005, Klein was arrested and charged with two misdemeanor counts of DUI after police clocked him at .20.

He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to five years probation and a $1,800 fine.

The Illinois native shot to fame in 1999 with breakout performances in 'Election' and 'American Pie.' His other films include 'Rollerball' and 'American Dreamz.' As his film career lagged, Klein became known more for his relationships, which included a broken engagement to Katie Holmes and a two-year courtship with Ginnifer Goodwin.

Thank god he was not in Mont Pa!!!! where even if you don't drink and drive and you are walking home you will still get one......Go figure its the same county that does not address kate gosslin! Plus the dui laws suck!!!!!!! Hmmmmm drug dealers and users ok..have wine durring dinner f=u

One DUI is a error in judgement. More than one DIU, you have a serious problem and you need help. My brother was killed in a drunk driving accident at the age of 27. I have little tolerance for repeat offenders. I feel 2nd DUI should be mandatory 30 days in jail. No exceptions.

He's Suri Cruise's daddy! We all know that Tom can't have no babies! That's why his first wife, Mimi left him and went on to have children shortly after she got married to someone else. And don't forget Nicole Kidman! She had a kid with Keith Urban, and the reason Tom left her was because she had a miscarriage. Tom KNEW he couldn't have kids and when Nicole ended up pregnant, he knew she cheated. Look at Suri, she looks JUST like Chris! Poor Chris, he was paid off to keep quiet and now its manifesting itself in his alcoholism!

seriously, the only reason that these actors are arrested to begin with is that the judges in LA make deals. you contribute to my retirement account, i will let you off with a small fine,
and continue to protect you when you violate the conditions of parole. the police officers get their cut also.
case and point lindsay lohan, would a regular human being get the same treatment. you cant blame the actor for taking the deal, we would do the same thing its the american way

You're crazy... Chris was driving a 1999 Trailblazer so I highly doubt that he has the money to contribute to a retirement.

you are so full of sh*t. You obviously have a chemical dependency problem that you feel can only be explained by blaming the judges and the police. For your information, DUI prosecutions in L.A. COST the taxpayers money. But pull a third arrest within a seven year period and you will be filed on for a felony and with conviction or a no lo plea you will be going off to State prison for 3 years. I had the pleasure of filing on many so called "celebrities" as an investigtor with LAPD for 26 years, including former mayor Tom Bradley's daughter Phyllis. And yes, she went down for Felony DUI. Make sure you have you brain cleaned out of the caca before you try to write about something you know nothing about.

I think the main question should not be about this being his second DWI. It should be why the hell is why is he driving a 1999 Blazer. I'm broke and have a better car then that.

you people who want to crucify drunk drivers need to realize that your diplomats are going to work everyday under the influence of drugs/alcohol and they are creating laws under this state of mind too...and right now there is no mandatory drug testing for them to undergo...so you bereaved people better get a grip on reality and wake up...and M.A.D.D.,is out here making their own laws and they are getting away with it...they are nothing but a bunch greedy losers extorting money from decent citizens...the .08 bac law was decided by them and nobody else..which is pretty bad considering they are now being funded with tax dollars...they need to be sued and made to pay back all of the damages they caused americans for making these crooked laws...!
