Gosselin Kids Earn More Than Jon on 'Plus Eight'

As Kate Gosselin and her eight children get used to their new world on 'Kate Plus Eight,' the new TLC show sans Jon following the couple's brutal public split, all eyes are on Kate and the kids. All eyes and a whole lot of money, it seems. While Jon is being paid by the network simply to not be involved in the show, the kids are bringing in a whopping amount, in addition to what Kate makes. How much does the Gosselin kid army make? The answer, after the jump!

Kate's Kids Bringing Home the Bacon

Kate Gosselin's new TV show, 'Kate Plus Eight,' is another huge hit for TLC, and for their participation, mother and children stand to earn over $700,000. Though Jon is no longer part of the show, he is still under contract with TLC, earning just over $70,000 to disappear.

"The reason you don't see Jon looking for a job or doing embarrassing interviews is that he is still on the TLC payroll," a TV insider tells me. "Jon is basically getting paid to keep his mouth shut and go away. Although it must sting him to know his kids are earning more money than he is."

How much more, you ask? My sources tell me that of the $700K that Kate and the tots bring home, $200,000 of that is pay given directly to the kids, while mama bear brings in $500,000 for the 'Kate Plus Eight' tapings. Add that to the $500K she took in for five weeks of work on 'Dancing With the Stars,' and 2010 is turning out to be quite lucrative for the octomom.

Kate, has always said every dollar the kids earn is put away so that they have the money when they are older. Good, because eight sets of college tuition is expensive!

'Idol' Tour Moving to Smaller Venues

You know there is trouble in 'Idol'-land when host Ryan Seacrest is having to resort to Twitter to try selling unwanted tickets to the upcoming Idol tour.

Ryan tweeted, "If u were thinking about getting tix to the @americanidol live tour, do it now – ALL TIX are $200 for the next 24 hrs!" Yikes. Sources tell me ticket sales are so poor in certain locations that there is talk about moving the concerts from huge arenas to smaller theaters that hold less than 2,000 people.

Thank goodness Ryan has more than 3,201,054 Twitter followers, because if he can't sell the tickets, I'm pretty sure this season's winners can't.

Justin Bieber Is Famous, But Still Can't Drink

Where isn't Justin Bieber a VIP? Anywhere you can drink alcohol! On June 5, he was at the Showcase Cinema de Lux in Foxboro, Mass., to watch 'Get Him to the Greek,' when he attempted to climb the barricade into the premium Lux Level seating. The reason for Justin's sneaking? "That section is 21-plus only," a spy tells Life & Style magazine. "Justin was caught and turned away by the manager, who told the singer he had to be 21 to sit there." Justin's defense? "He said to the manager, 'Chuck E. Cheese sells alcohol, and I have no problem getting in there!'" says the eyewitness. But don't worry, Biebs, you're not banned for life. "We'll be happy to invite Mr. Bieber back to enjoy our premium seating when he's of legal age," said company rep.

Kudos to the Showcase Cinema de Lux! We don't want to see Mr. Bieber wind up like so many of today's stars ... troubled and derailed before they're 21!

you are so right,bratty kids they all are,and why would this family with the sixtuplets only be on tv,there are many more of them out there,my god i wonder what the duggers make,popping out all of these kids,dont tell me that they dont do this just to be on tv,they have had all of this planned for yrs,now those kids i feel so sorry for,JIM BOB just wants his wife under his thumb,and start his own country just like jim jones,now of them have there own brains,

You people are so judgmental. Kate and her kids and the Duggars earn money to raise their families. They dont depend on government hand outs and taxpayers dollars. YOU KNOW so many families do and they keep having kids they cant afford to raise. The Gosslin Kids and the Duggar children have parents that love them and are providing for them and all long bfore television came along in their lives. SO why not quit whining about them and go attack the leaches and drains on society who have more and more kids so they can get more from our government while sitting on their fat lazy butts.

I just dont get the fascination with Kate plus 8...I hope that greedy self-center, self absorbed Kate is made to put the kids money in safe keeping...And what a role model for Jon to be paid to shut up and go away...what the hell are you, the public. so interested in...i watched for about 5 minutes and wanted to take a shower

I cant blame Jon for ditching Kate. A man can only take so much. Most people treat their dogs better than she treated him. Constantly belittling him in from of his kids and in public. Yelling at him like some lesser servant. WTF did she think he was her peon or something. Now TLC paying jon to stay out of the show to make him look like a deadbeat dad. Making people think he has nothing to do with his kids. Kate and TLC should be ashamed, I feel sorry for the kids.

I think she needs to leave those kids out of the spot light and let them be kids and she needs to grow up and deal with life. She was part of the problem why they got the divorce and her putting it all on him was crap. The kids have always and will always be taken care of they don't need to be on a show.

I don't believe TLC is paying for more of that nonsense. Let's all watch an hour of Kate screaming. Everything that happens....screaming. She was so emasculating to Jon, who worked every bit as hard as she did, no wonder he split. Remember the 14 hour day he worked, and she wanted the bedroom furniture moved at 11 p.m? How about "can you stop breathing so loud"? Enough. Let her make a fool of herself on DWTS, and leave the spoiled kids alone.

That's what she's doing, growing up and dealing with life. She has a good job, nice home for children, obviously loves them,
they have many opportunites that the majority of children don't have. The children seem to enjoy being in the spotlight. They certainly did greet the staff with a great deal of enthusiasm after being away from them awhile, so they seem to like what they are doing.
And Kate is not the one who strayed.

I came to this story cause I was curious who watches the show. I am sick of seeing her all over the TV so I shut it off. I didn't watch Dancing with the Stars. A friend of mine with children said why would I entertain myself by watching someone elses kids on TV. So whats the attraction or is it a paid media blitz?

AMEN! You are right! Couldn't have said it better myself. If people would just NOT watch the show, it would eventually have to go away because the ratings would go into the toilet, which is where they belong.
It was obvious from the beginning that Kate was always "all about Kate" and she always will be. Those poor kids would have had a more normal life and childhood if Jon had gotten full custody of them and Kate had to get a REAL job for a change. Oh, but, I forgot, she wouldn't have the money for hair extensions, nail appointmernts, breast implants, tummy tucks and all the other things that DIVA'S indulge in, instead of spending quality time with their children. I don't blame Jon one bit for getting out of that mess with Kate.

I'm glad Kate and the kids are back. Hasn't anyone watched??? The kids are happy to be back on TV and I am also glad TLC is sticking it to Jon. He's the one who screwed everything up for them in the first place. The kids should make more money than he does and he shouldn't get a dime of alimony. After his contract is up he should go back to whatever he did before the show.
