Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart Married

With the word of Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart's marriage, the couple that everyone initially scratched their heads at took their relationship to the next level, evolving into the couple everyone has come to love. Sure, he's 22 years older than her and they've been dating for eight years prior, but they've emerged as one of the most solid romantic pairings in Hollywood these days. The relationship between the 'Indiana Jones' hunk and the 'Ally McBeal' starlet kicked off in 2002, after the two met at the Golden Globes. Flockhart, currently 45, said in 2003 that dating Ford, now 67, "doesn't faze me" in the age department. "Sometimes I even say, 'Wow, I keep forgetting that he's [22] years older than me.' It doesn't factor into our relationship at all."

She even goes on to say that while Harrison has more than two decades on her, he actually reminds her of a little boy at times.

"I like the way he looks first thing in the morning ... It's not handsome. It's more cute. He looks like a little boy. You know how when you wake up in the morning and you're kind of puffy and rumpled and you look kind of vulnerable? That's what he looks like," she told PEOPLE in 2003.

Flockhart quickly became not just Harrison's girlfriend, but also a part of his family. In 2001, she adopted her then-1-year-old son Liam, which brought the father figure back out of Ford at the age of 65.

"She's brought a child back into my home ... My youngest, other than Liam, is 17. It's a wonderful opportunity to be part of a child's growing up, which is always an endless springtime. You see the blossoming and the growing and the nurturing and the payoff," Ford said of his new son and of Flockhart in a Reader's Digest interview.

Ford also said that even at his age, he was still learning. "I still work on being a better father. I work at being a better mate. I've learned a lot from my relationships, and I have learned a lot from my kids. I think I have made some progress," he said.

Then, after happily dating with no strings attached (save for Liam) for nearly eight years, Ford shocked Flockhart -- and the Hollywood couple-watching world -- when he proposed to her in March 2009. He popped the question on Velantine's Day while they were on vacation with Liam in tow.

More than a year later, just as surprising as the proposal, the couple secretly eloped and tied the knot in New Mexico -- with none other than Governor Bill Richardson presiding over the ceremony.

Though neither Ford or Flockhart have made a public statement since the wedding (hey, it's their honeymoon, right?), Ford's son, Ben, is ecstatic over the impromptu nuptials. He told PEOPLE: "I think it is wonderful that they finally made it legit. It is really terrific news."

Just another guy who was married for years and years to his first wife, then dumped her for a younger model.

Wow Lori, you must have been left for a younger woman. Harrison Ford did not leave his wife for her. He and his wife were no longer together when they met.

Actually I think her point is that some other woman loved him when he was nothing, stayed with him, supported him, and then of course when he started to go downhill in his career he got a younger model. I dont actually mind this couple because they both look like they are in their 60s, so neither of them really won out. :)

I dont look for my new car in a used car lot either.
We dont mind paying extra and putting up with another silly woman...so long as she is younger,sexier,more fun and better looking than the fat azz we just dumped.

It all boils down to the fact that most, not all, men, as they age, want the younger women. We can all deny it but it is a ball faced fact which makes me sick. Why do you think that only 17% of women over 40 remarry? The numbers speak very loudly for themselves. We get emotional about things, but when activities of society are quantified, as best possible, then, and only then, can we have an educated/informed discussion about what is going on.

Maybe their Hollywood peers think they're adorable, but from the red carpet appearances and interviews that I've seen, these two are not "easy to adore." They're smug, conceited, condescending, and vain. Couple this with the fact that Harrison is pushing 70 and Calista is virtually a flesh-toned skeleton, and the idea of these two sleeping together is repugnant.
