Amanda Bynes announced early this morning she'll retire from acting."I don't love acting anymore so I've stopped doing it," she wrote on Twitter. A quick volley of tweets included further explanation: "Being an actress isn't as fun as it may seem" and "I've never written the movies & tv shows I've been apart of I've only acted like the characters the producers or directors wanted me to play."
The 24-year-old star became famous on Nickelodeon, eventually starring in films like 'She's the Man' and 'Hairspray' and posing as cover girl for magazines like Cosmopolitan and Maxim.

Maybe she'll change her mind. Maybe she won't. I enjoy her movies & wish her well. Who do the haters think CAN act: Megan Fox?

Follow your heart. Why stay with a job if you're unhappy unless you have no choice (because of the job shortages). Obviously Amanda is secure enough financially. I don't think she is stupid enough to give up a paycheck and not be.

I think she wrote "apart" because it's twitter and the amount of characters you're allowed to use limited.

About time, seriously, when did she start acting in the first place? Shes boring to watch, boring to look at, Im glad shes going to stop being over-paid to be another boring human being. I hope she finds something shes actually good and and "loves" doing.

Amanda is so funny. I remember when my daughter used to watch the Amanda show, it made me laugh too! Amanda is talented and beautiful and she should pursue her dreams. We'd watch any movie she's in because we like her.

Good girl Amanda! There are so many producers and directors out there that are just trash!

Good for you Amanda. It takes a strong person to move on. I wish you all the luck. As fantastic an actress as you are, I am sure you will be successful and whatever you decide to do.

If she can afford to retire at 24, all the more power to her! I wish I could! If she has invested her money wisely, she should be plenty secure financially and can live many people's dream -- retiring early and doing what they want with their time.
Why do we sit and bash her decisions when we don't know the ins and outs of them? Plus, it is her life, not ours.
