Michael Jackson's Kids Coping Without Dad

While tears most certainly flowed on Father's Day from Michael Jackson's three children, sources tell me the children might actually have a more normal life without daddy. How is that possible, you might ask? Consider the whirlwind and erratic life they led while Michael was still alive, and the more structured lifestyle they lead now.

"Even before Michael died, the children spent most of their time with their grandmother, Katherine," a Jackson insider tells me.

"Katherine's house was the only time they ever got any normality in their lives. With bedtime rules, regular school tutors and being taught to say 'please' and 'thank you.' In contrast, when the children were with Michael, they could stay up as late as they wanted, regularly skipped school and were forced to wear those silly masks to protect their identity. Finally, a year after his death, his children are thriving in a safe environment with lots of rules."

There is no doubt that all three children miss their daddy -- especially his daughter Paris, who Katherine Jackson says has turned her bedroom into a shrine to her father and made him a Father's Day card. The children will now be going to a regular school this September for the first time in their lives and will learn how to play with other kids.

Having the King of Pop as your father couldn't have been easy, especially for three young children who, like all kids, need boundaries as well as love ... even if your dad is the biggest superstar in the world.

If you consider being tagged with a taser gun normal well I guess they have that now. michael went to great lengths to give his children the love he never had. He should never have left them with his mother. Brook maybe. But not his mother.

Michael did the best he could for his children. He wanted to protect as well as give them as much of a normal life as a person of his status could. The bottom line is that he loved his children and they love him. They are without their father for the first Father's Day of their lives and I empathize with their grief.

Debra, you wrote "He never should have left them with his mother." To be more correct HE NEVER SHOULD'VE LEFT THEM! When you're responsible for the lives and well being of children you need to set a proper example and be a good role model for them. That means you do not live a bizarre lifestyle that includes drug abuse which ultimately leads to a premature death when your primary responsibility should be your children. They need you alive and well for a lot of yours. Too bad he didn't make that his #1 priority.

In reply to David: Ms. Rowe is the biological mother to only 2 of the 3 children. Michael's mother was against her involement, since the children do not know her. I understand there was someting in the works while Michael was alive regarding visitation. Who knows??

David, Debbie Rowe didn't want to be a mother, she made an arrangement where she got money in exchange for children. She is trying to get on with her life and happily raising horses.

Coincidently I don't like the way this story depicts MJ's parenting skills. I don't believe it when everything else I've heard from those who knew MJ saying he was an exceptional and even exemplary father. Geez the guy is dead, why do you print such lies to make him look bad?

I agree with you David. I grew up with bi-racial kids all of my life. These kids don't have have a drop of African American blood in them. I'm not saying he didn't love them as his, and I'm sure at this point it won't matter, but I hope the best for them.

Debbie didn't want any involvement. And Michael is their father! Can't you see the resemblance apart from skin tone? They all have his eyes and nose from when he was little. Just because a child has a black father doesn't mean the child can't be white. Do some research.
