'I'm Bisexual,' Vanessa Carlton Tells Crowd of 18,000

Performing at Saturday's Nashville Pride concert, Vanessa Carlton announced live to a crowd of 18,000 fans that she is bisexual.

"I've never said this before, but I am a proud bisexual woman," she said. According to the concert's website, this was the event's 22nd year of "celebrating the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community in Middle Tennessee." Carlton headlined the event.

Carlton, not known to currently be involved with anyone, was previously linked to John Mayer and Third Eye Blind frontman Stephen Jenkins.

'True Blood' starlet Anna Paquin also recently announced her own bisexuality.

Carlton broke out with 2002's 'Be Not Nobody,' an album that went platinum in the U.S. and gold in three other countries. Her fourth album, 'Rabbits on the Run,' is set for release this year. See the video for her first hit, 'A Thousand Miles':

"It wasn't like it was a big secret," Anna Paquin said of her headline-grabbing reveal earlier this year. "It was just a cause I cared about and privately supported, but not one that I had ever had an opportunity to speak out about in a way that would be useful. Obviously I know that one person's voice doesn't necessarily do that much, but I just wanted to do my bit."

The Book of Leviticus which all are fond of quoting as speaking against homosexuality also says for us to treat the aliens in our land the same as everyone else.

Nobody reads that far - Levitcus 19:33 - I guess, especially in Arizona.

BTW-who follows the rest of the rules about what to eat and what to give to the priests for sins?

I think those "Priests" who had nothing better to do than dictate what sins were sins and how to make atonement by feeding them in the mannner they desired were the politicians of the day.

There are sooo many self-appointed preachers here about what "God" means...who died and made you God? Don't say you"ll pray for me...does that mean you want credit for wasting YOUR time? And then you want credit for it! Don't do me any favors... You preachers make me want to throw up!

She is just the latest & I'm sure there are more in the entertainment world than anyone thinks & really it's no big deal. She may recant it at some point. Pink did that, first she said she was bi then months later she said she wasn't. Either way the only thing that matters is how we all treat, act towards & interract with, each other.

She didn't say she was after your boyfriend (or girlfriend). For that matter, none of you people actually clarified if you were gay, straight or bi either. A lot of you rode in on your pompous attitudes and your high horses claiming to be holier than thou, and it makes no difference. I guess none of you have family members with such issues or you'd be looking at it a lot differently. What if this were your sister or daughter? Would you condemn her or would you be there for her? Saying she's bisexual doesn't make her bad...just honest about it.
