Legal documents show that Gary Coleman had filed a restraining order against ex-wife Shannon Price just months before she took him off life support, RadarOnline reports.According to the papers, Coleman claimed that Price moved back into their home without his consent while he was hospitalized.
He also said that Price "has shown a tendency to damage, destroy and steal my property and I believe she will continue to do so in my absence and while she is trespassing in my home."
"I believe if she is given any warning of this pending order to require her to immediately vacate the home, she will cause more damage and destroy more irreplaceable memorabilia, documents, personal papers and other such valuables," the papers continued.
The 'Diffr'ent Strokes' star was granted the restraining order on Feb. 19, 2010, but never served it to Price.

Apparently you can appoint anyone to be your healthcare overseer - and Shannon was his. That was all probably prior to the restraining order which the hospital didn't know about when they let her pull the plug. HOWEVER it would explain why she didn't go near him when he fell and needed help.
Poor guy. He never caught a break did he.
One reason could be they never asked. When my husband was in a car crash and on life support, I said I was his wife (which was true. Unlike this case, we were very much married and happy)and no one questioned it. No one even checked my ID. I could have been anyone. I was "lucky" (if you can use that word) that he was in the accident in a state that doesn't ask you if you want to remove support, they tell you they are going to do it, so I don't have anyone saying I "pulled the plug" on him. Maybe that's the best way, leave it to the doctors. People are too close to the case to make a clear judgement. They sometimes cling to false hope. Having said that, I remember what I was like when my husband died and it was nothing like this chick. I could hardly think and I never would have thought of taking pictures of him. I couldn't stop crying. I haven't seen this woman cry once. Something seems funny. I don't know if she killed him or not but, she sure didn't love him.
Only in UTAH!
That is the main point I have had trouble understanding. She was an EX. His parents were the next of kin. Had they declined from honor his wishes then it should have fell upon the state. Ys he may have been legally dead, but the hospital handled it all wrong by letting her turn off the machine. Then for her not to notify his parents and put everything in the hands of her brother; what the hell!!! She wouldnt help him when he was bleeding, but yet they see it as no foul play? I sure am happy I dont live in Utah. If someone were to treat me like then I want them to pay and pay dearly. If nothing else she should have been charged with neglect
hospitals do some very strange and scary things at times read the amount of people that die of mistakes in american hopitals every year it is over 100 thousand...that is scary ,
G i guess that would explain that part of it.

What I don't understand about all this is Shannon was granted all rights of a legal wife in all of the decisions that were made. She is even listed as his wife on the death certificate .These people were not married and she is not the executor of his will . I don't understand any of this .

My guess is that they did that whole divorce thing through the show Divorce Court so it may not have been real it may have just been for a pay check. But hey who knows..

SO LETS GET THIS STRAIGHT. COLEMAN SAID HE EX WIFE (DUMBER THAN A PUDDLE OF MUD), WOULD DISTROY AND STEAL HIS PROPERTY. HE HAD NO TRUST IN HER AND CALLED HER A GOLD DIGGER, IN SO MANY WORDS. BUT......SHE HAD THE RIGHT TO "PULL THE PLUG", WHICH SHE DID WITHOUT MUCH HESITATION. NOW SHE THINKING "WOW I CAN OWN ALL OF GARY'S STUFF BECAUSE I CAN LEGALLY KILL HIM". THIS STORY JUST GET SICKER EVERYDAY.

This unfortunate story should serve as a lesson for all of us. His ex-wife was able to pull the plug because the advance directive for his medical care that was on file said she, Shannon Price, not his wife nor his ex-wife, but Shannon Price had the the authority to make medical decisions for him if he was unable to do so.
So, when you get a divorce, have a parting of the ways with friends and/or family and you no longer want them to be a part of your life or life decisions, draw up a new advanced directive. We may not like what she did or how she did it, but she was given that 'right' by Gary.
Gary was sicker than the vast majority of his friends and family knew. It's so sad how we let life fly away, without taking, without making the time to keep in touch with those we once cared for. 2nd lesson to be learned from this, make the time to keep in touch with friends and family. You never know what tomorrow will bring, you only have today... no do overs, no instant replays, few if any second chances.

Undo you stated that Gary was broke so there is no money for anyone to get their hands on. Well sorry to say but thats where you are wrong. With book and movie rights at stake Gary Colemans estate could be worth millions.
