'Bachelor' Breakup: Jake and Vienna Won't Be Friends

A friend close to newly separated 'Bachelor' couple Jake Pavelka and Vienna Girardi tells PEOPLE the breakup was messy and the two are not on good terms.

"Let's just say they're not going to be hanging out together anytime soon," the source says. "She was committed to see where this led. She really thought he was a special guy. She was ready to go as far as it could go, and it obviously ran its course."

The news arrived yesterday that Jake, 32, and Vienna, 24, had split just months after he proposed to her on the reality show's season finale. "It was a shock, to say the least," Girardi's friend says. "She was really down about it."

The silver lining to this dark cloud? Vienna's pal tells PEOPLE, "She didn't expect to be married in her early 20s, so it's probably all for the best."

BookOfOdds.com notes that of the seven 'Bachelor' men who popped the big question to their ladies in finale episodes, six relationships crumbled within one year. "At least Jake and Vienna made it to the one-month mark -- two of the seven engaged Bachelors didn't even make it that far," the site writes.

PopEater's Naughty But Nice with Rob Shuter reported yesterday that Vienna tells Star Magazine in an upcoming issue that she and Jake hadn't "been intimate in months."

"At first his excuse was that he was fasting," Girardi says. "The second excuse was that he didn't feel like it. And the third excuse was that he said that he felt that I wouldn't understand that he wants to wait until marriage, even though I told him I'd support him."

Radar previously reported that Jake, a pilot from Texas, continued some form of involvement with his ex-girlfriend after his stint on 'The Bachelor' and subsequent engagement to Vienna.

Jake is gay. Yes she is no prize either, I think she cheated. He picked the wrong woman to begin with. Tenely should be glad he didn't pick her. These shows should be cancelled, too much emotional baggage every season.

My prediction in this high drama?? Jake miraculously appears on the set in time to stop Ali from getting a proposal from some other man of her dreams and Jake and Ali embrace in a flood of mutual tears and hugs........... just as pre-planned.

I think you are totally right on. I think Ally still loves Jake very much. I truly hope that happens because I thought Jake made a huge mistake. I think he woke up when he started watching Ally on the Bachelorette this season. Roberto is hot, but that does not constitute love. Go for it Jake!

Hello, Jake is STILL gay, the entire "Bachelor" season with him was a sham, and I'm rather surprised ABC hasn't sued him for mis-representation...don't they do background checks before casting? Had they taken the time to do that, they would have indeed found out that yes, he is gay!

Jake picked Vienna early in the show knowing the odds were he was going to dump her, that way there was no risk of falling for someone like Tenely that would damage his ego when she dumped him. Jake was the perfect flake for drama and all the girls should be thankful they didn't end up with him.
