Joe Jackson Is Not Attending Michael's Tribute

Joe Jackson will not be attending Michael Jackson's fan tribute on Saturday because he has prior commitments in Ohio. Jackson tells PopEater he will be in the Buckeye State for the next few days doing TV and news interviews as well as visiting the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He says he will be "celebrating Michael."

"I miss him," Joe says. He won't be attending the gravesite memorial either, but is having a friend bring up something special that he made for Michael.

Katherine Jackson and La Toya Jackson will be attending the tribute at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Saturday.

Jackson's children, Prince, Paris and Blanket, will be in Hawaii, away from all of it. The family wants to provide the kids with a peaceful, quiet time away from the press on the anniversary of their father's passing, family friends reveal.

Fans Remember Michael Jackson

Earlier this week, video surfaced of Katherine urging fans to attend a fan tribute event at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. VoicePlate.com will present "Forever Michael," a red carpet event to pay tribute to the King Of Pop on the anniversary of his death. Katherine also invites fans to indulge in her new book, 'Never Can Say Goodbye.'

"I know that Michael would be very honored and very pleased that his fans all over the world are coming together to celebrate his life," she says.

I hear that he's filing a civil suit against Dr Murray, should he be the one to file the suit. What he won't do for a buck. His mom should be filing the suit.

What a shame that such a great performer had such an awful father. The only reason why Joe isn't attending the tribute is because there's no money in it for him. Michael was a great human being and he didn't deserve the treatment from both his father and the media. Michael, at least you can rest knowing that your fans care about you. R.I.P.

you know why everyone is jumping down on joe for doing what he did (whatever it was) to michael, how about his mother who had to know what was going on all those years with her son, everyone has her out to being a great lady,as for having her grandkids with her, that whole house would be that last place i would have want to have my kids with, you never know grandpa joe might try it again, and grandma might just look the other way like she might have done with michael, the whole family is goofy, who names their kid BLANKET?..it's all a money racket with them all,i do feel sorry for the kids who are stuck in the middle of all this...that's it just my thought.

DIANE- King explained to world what pet name Blanket means. It is an affectionate name, which essentially equates with what a real blanket does. Name is NOT on child's birth certificate. So please. Keep quiet. Best, when you are clueless.

ACTUALLY I DON'T EVEN REMEMBER THE REASON AS HER "GIVEN" NAME IS STEPHANIE. MY COUSIN'S NICKNAME IS "MICKEY"...NOT THE MOUSE. HER "GIVEN" NAME IS MICHELLE ANN". ummm,one "victim" recanted, the other was part of a family of grifters - his testimony was not credible... this is why we have trial by jury - so that there's a chance that at least some jurors will vote according to the evidence instead of their preconceived notions... i've spent over ten years in courthouses, putting criminals out of business, but i have no doubt that the "not guilty" verdict was the correct one... since our judicial system has declared MJ "not guilty," those of you who continue to spew unjustified hatred ARE guilty - of slander...
